adios muchachos

Best wishes and GL to ya!

Oh, Navy food will defintly make you hanker for hot stuff. About all they have is Tobasco for the mystery meals. ;)

Later on, you can roast the non-coms with your chillis..it'll be great fun. :D

thanks everyone. i'll be sure to come back as soon as i can. will be without spicy food for a while..but i'll be sure to put in some orders once i'm settled in somewhere for a bit. wish i could take some sauce or spices with me but they won't store it for me, and i won't have a mini fridge. maybe it'll give my stomach a time to heal. ha

Tabasco Sauce has a funny way of showing up in the mess hall.

hah well i haven't seen any tabasco yet, but i do know where the condiment cabinet is..and it does hot sauce is one of the listed condiments. we haven't progressed to the point where we have access to that stuff yet.

i actually finished up indoc week (possibly the worst week) and wound up rolling out of my class yesterday because i have achilles tendonitis in my right ankle. now i'm walking around with this velcro boot like thing and can't PT or march/drill. so i'm in a sort of limbo class called Holding Company/H class/H/etc. pretty sure i also have bronchitis..seems a LOT of people get sick here because of the living conditions and everyone being from different parts of the country.

so i'm stuck here until i check out medically and then i'll rejoin an upcoming class and finish out the rest of my time here. we get quite a bit more free time though while in H, so i thought i'd hop on for a minute and say hi.

hope you're all burning your mouths for me! i haven't had anything spicy for over a week now! :(

Great to hear from you and keep us updated. I will eat my chillis later and dedicate my meal to you (Scotch Bonnets). Hopefully you'll get that hot sauce soon. RB x

Good to see you still kixing and hang in there and do what the doctors say and you will be alright. Its always tough but hang in there . The advantages you will achieve later on is unreal so be a burner and indulge in it , you will do fine it took me 20 years to figure them out and then I got out. lol Stay Alert stay Alive joe

thanks everyone. tomorrow i go to get my bronchitis checked out..if that is cleared up then i get to go for physical therapy on tuesday. now that the next class started today, i have until monday next week to be well and pass a fitness test so i can roll into their class where i left off. if not, i'll have to wait an additional two weeks! that would suck, but if i'm not healed, there is no point in moving ahead because i'd just wind up back here again.

hey everyone. got some on-base liberty for the first time! getting close to actually finally graduating from OCS. on the 29th of this month, i'll be a commissioned officer in the Navy. wound up staying here a lot longer than i originally hoped/planned because i suffered a leg injury that put me on light duty for a while and i had to wear a leg brace. luckily all that is behind me and i've been running (a lot). monday is our last graded evolution..the out-PFA (physical fitness assesment) and there are no doubts that everyone will pass..we just want to get everyone's 1.5 mile run to be under 11 minutes. most of us are there except a couple people.

today since we were allowed to go out and eat somewhere other than the chow hall..i picked up some blair's nitro and poured it on my sub that i had for lunch. it was awesome..my mouth hasn't burned like that for some time! well, i hope everyone is doing well and enjoying everyday life..i definitely miss it! haven't had a beer in a few months! :(

Welcome back and good luck. You know in the Canadian Navy you can drink while onboard, in the US, you can't... just a funny fact I learned during fleet week.

You are now going to enter a very hallowed place IMO. You are going to be an officer in the US Navy. My dreams as a child were to be a naval officer but in my case things just didn't work out...long story for another time. My hats off to you brother, may you have a great career.

If I were you, I would definitely get a CD with "Southern Cross" on it and keep it with me at all times...I love this song...I think it was originally done by CSNY but I like Jimmy Buffets rendition of it better...if you don't know the song, here is a link to it...this is NOT CSNY or Buffet but a pretty good performance. All acoustic.

Congrats X and have a safe and successful career.By the way--what`s your final mos?Have a good ride.

WAY TO GO BRIAN!

Glad it's going along well....and.....THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

The debt we owe our young people in military service is incalculable.
