Ahh no real place.

I play NPL mainly.

The last major comp I played was for $10k and I got to the second last table out of 26 tables. Not too bad but I still didn't get the big$. I'm qualified for a $40k comp next weekend but its up the coast and I couldn't be bothered with it, going off the way I've been playing.
 
I've played a couple NPLs did ok.. MrMel is a crazy poker fiend though and likes online but also the casino.. sounds like you do ok though.. maybe you've just had a bad run and you're luck is about to change :) i'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)
 
I was up a few k at the end of last year but this years been a shocker. I have to say I'm enjoying myself more and I'm just doing it for fun so I think thats the reason for my bad run.

But hey I'm still enjoying it :)

You should give hippy a ring Mel and see if you can go have a tour of his place. One of the other posts you were talking about grabbing some of his sauces. His skoby sauce will kick your butt or anyone thats willing to try it. The y7 is great but I don't know if he has any.

Hope your plants a doing better than mine :)
 
I'm definitely going to have to get my hands on some of hippy's sauces!! I hope to go on a tour of his place sooner or later, just need to work it in with MrMel :)

my plants are doing well at the minute (touch wood!) i found a baby scotch bonnet on my plant tonight so I'm excited!

I have to say my new peach jam is bloody good. I've been going to the fridge and just eating a spoon full lol The rum worked well and gives it a nice deep after taste.

Has a great burn too.

6x yellow sevens (my entire harvest lol)
6x large choc bhuts
6x large fatalii's
1kg peaches
2x passion fruit
1/3 cup white wine vin
3 tbsp lemon
1kg jam sugar
5 tbsp Bundy rum 40% oak barrel edition
2 tsp rock salt
lemon rind (removed after cooking)

I think I would remove 250grams of sugar next time as its a bit thick and too sweet but it's a fruit jam so sweet still works well.

The first jam I made had only one type of pepper and I think that worked really well. All you could taste was the flavours of the jam and DORSETS. This new one is too much of a mix of pepper tastes, so next one I'll just go choc bhuts only and see how that one turnes out.

I put that spoon of jam down the hatch and I'm still burnin :)

hello all :)

The rotten pod problem is still in full swing, so after trying an organic solution I've pulled out the big guns. I hate the idea of poisons and killing off all life on the plants but it seems like the bad bugs have one at this point.

I went down to my sort of local nursery and had a chat to a rather old fashioned, dirty mouthed, slightly rasist, beer bellied chap lol Despite all of that I ended up with this lot, at the end of the day he was dirt cheap lol

So the fly trap smells like dog sh#t lol I've had it for 2-3 days and it label has a note "takes 10 days to start working". Each day I can see more and more flies starting to hang out around it. The other stuff is a fruit fly spray as I'm sure I've got fruit fly after reading up and having a look around the garden.

Half of the plants are starting to look a bit light coloured and have some yellowing leaves. Is there anything you guys/girls do between pod runs to give the plants a new lease on life? Most of the older larger plants are starting to form new growth and new flowers :) So i guess nows the time for a bit of TLC

I've steped up the fertz x2 as the plants seem to be lacking something, I've also dosed dolomite for calc/mag. I was wondering if I should purge the pots? I don't know the gardening term but maybe a good flush might perk them up?


I'm also thinking about cloning all of my fav plants for next year as all of my 1 year old plants produced so much more than the newbie's. Is this a good idea or should I just save some pods from fav plants and get them going?

I have seen those but thought they would be one of the good guys lol

But I also have what looks like mediterranean fruit fly and just about every other nasty. I seem to have lots of really small flies which I guess are the fruit flies but I have other larger ones with golden butt's :)

I'm crossing my fingers hoping that this spray will kill all of the bad stuff.
 
go and check your pods...see if you can see any with a small hole in them???? break it open and see if you have a small grub in them or if the seeds have gone black, or a sort of spiderish web ....this could be your problem?????

I have found very small holes by sqeezing the pods and some frluid/air spits out.

I have had black seeds in some pods.

I have had a white worm/grubbs in a few of the pods too.

I've also had a few jolokia pods that had black mould looking fuzz in them.

The spray seems to cover a wide range of pests so I might get emm all if I'm lucky
