its a doctor'd up tomato sauce that you poach the eggs in.. I had part of a bottle of tomatoes we canned kicking around in the fridge, so threw some stuff in with it, then poached the eggs in the resulting hot tub .. onions,kalamata olives, sliced garlic, anchovies, a mystery smoked pod ( tabasco I think, I smoked an assortment a while back and threw them all in a glass jar without labeling) hit it with some parm at the end.
