Douglah Cappy 2010

I am a little upset right now because I was just "told" by my wife that her best friend with 4 kids, twin 12 year old boys will be visiting again next weekend. They were just here a week ago and it drastically changes my plant out back yet another week. I was planning on getting started this weekend. The mom is fighting with dad and my plants have absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm pissed.

The best I can do is figure a way to put them to work and help out with plant out. Now I'm thinking just have to be super organized...

A little morning sun on my pepper starts.

Nice! Looks like you're going to have your hands full, might as well train these young recruits to do your work for as well as fetch beers:)

You must be having some great weather. Those things are really taking off! Cappy, do you remember what seeds you sent me last year in a little plastic envelop with powder? I think they are Naga Morich, but I am not entirely sure and I didn't label them.

Everything's looking great! I wish I started all my seeds at once vs. staggered planting. All of yours are in the same cups and probably easy to care for while I have a range from 2.25 inch squares up to 3 gallon containers. It's a real pain taking care of small, medium and large plants every day. I also want to say thanks again for the mixed Seven Pod seed you sent. It made for some fine looking seedlings. I think I have 3 going at the moment and they're some of my best.

Plants are looking great as usual. My wife has tried that as well a couple of times. I tell her: "Fine, have fun with your visit. I will be planting (or whatever I had planned to do)." She got pissed the first couple of times, but she got over it.

Good luck! Hopefully you can get them planted soon.

No clue Jay on the seed? I've grown large pepper plants in small pots before and I don't think another week wait will be a bad thing. They are protected from birds, dogs, cats, kids, and noonday sun and still look very green to me. They have been outside full time 3 weeks and haven't moved them, just watering with a fine spray from the hose. I am really anxious to get the garden planted but will wait. Zander these were started in three different plantings over about a month. My pequins were over two feet tall before I potted them up and they seem fine.

Planting by the full moon cycle this year. April's full moon is on Wednesday the 28th and is known by many names depending on the Wiccan / Pagan tradition but is most commonly known as Seed, Growing, and Hare Moon.

I'm about half way done with plant out and the first 100 plants are in their final homes. My mix this year consists of old soil from 30 pots dumped on a tarp and roots removed. Add 1 bale Sunshine peat moss, 2 bags cotton burr compost, dolomitic lime, and a heafty dose of new perlite and mix together yeilds 50 new containers of soil. I've done this twice, a little windy today.:)

Are you going to keep them that close, or move them a bit apart?

Grow them like they are as I have kids and don't want to hog the whole backyard. I have 20 rows done but plan on making a 40 row hedge along the back fence.

Good luck with the home made plant medium Cappy.

They will just have to survive because I'm not repotting like I did last year, pretty sore and tired this evening. Thanks again everyone!
