Good morning.

Just planted some peas. I completely forgot about planting Tomatillo. Pretty bummed. In all the excitement of Chiles I completely forgot. LoL!!! Don’t know if I can get them started now and have enough time. They do grow quickly though. I’m trying to get some peas and such in the ground to start getting the soil active. The chiles won’t do good at this point but Tomatillos and Peas will.

I have a master bedroom with sliding glass doors. Unfortunately the view is some apartments about 100 yards. One of the tenants is loud and drinks all the time. I’m building a lean to up in the deck outside the bedroom. I figured it might as well be a green house. So I’m designing it a bit today.

Today is the day we unload compost. Not looking forward to it, but I need my truck back. The stuff smells. It gets on your hands and it takes awhile of scrubbing to get rid of the smell. They must have used some manure of some sort comparing last year. That’s the good thing is this is last years compost. Since we have winter and all. Hope it’s not to high in nitrogen.

Sic, that was some funny stuff. I thought the same thing when you said they are bringing a cat. Leaving with a cat is a different story. Keep us posted. Lol

Have a great day all.

Morning all - a glorious sunny Sunday today and I've been out in the garden for a couple of hours already.
Just sat down for a coffee.
Doing a complete health check on the peppers, some are thriving some aren't - so it needs investigating.
There may be a nap later after yesterday's super busy day, plus MotoGP from Spain - my kind of day.
And that's it - have a good Sunday, keep calm, cool, pain-free and smile always :D

@Ratatouille they're yours, come and get 'em
Although with the pups around for the dog show yesterday, you'd have considerable difficulty choosing pups to take home.
Loads of photos, I'll pop up some of my faves later in the day.

Good morning. Well we have a new cat, its all black. Spent the night in a big chicken gathering cage with a dog tent over the cage in our carport. Probably will leave him in there one or 2 more nights. Wife has a litter pan in it and will keep it clean. So calm down you PETA warriors. It has been fixed also. No abuse here just want the cat to have the best chance of staying and knowing this is its property. Like I said a farm in the swamp is not a place for weak kitties. It seems sweet enough and probably wishes it was inside but thats not how it goes, the other cats have all seen it. The oldest laid in front of the cage and rolled around to show it the joys of freedom, lol. Have to get everything ready for work tomorrow and tuesday. Walk with the wife first thing though. Will just chill this evening, watch a movie. Have a wonderful day.

Good early morning, for me anyway. We had a potluck dinner for the gardeners last night, quick tour for the newbies, and a mean talk from me. I had to go over the rules and hope they will be obeyed. I have one guy that wastes water and does things his way - we shall see this year. Nice to see a few new faces. Very new to gardening.
It looks to be a nice week ahead, maybe a few more rain showers. Time to purchase a few annual flowers to get some color around here.
Have a wonderful Sunday. Stay healthy and safe. Blessings to everyone.

Good morning. It's 46F (8C) on its way to 63F (17C). Windy already. Cooler today. Got home late from the match. Coffee hasn't kicked in yet. We have to bring our cats inside at night. Bad things happen to cats (pets) at night out here. Not much going on today. Going to work outside later this morning. Grilling and beverages later on. Looks like we can start plant hardening mid-week. Be safe and be good.

Good morning. It's raining and 56F, on its way to 62F. Supposed to rain all day with thunderstorms and flooding in low areas - like the garden, ha. Need to water/feed the plants today, then off to the hospital. Yesterday was a very good day for Mom. Hope the same for today. Hope everybody has a peaceful and restful Sunday. Be safe (and dry) out there.

Good day.

Lots of things I could be doing, I’m just not going to do them. I’m sure something will get done. I got a new top grate for my 18” Smoky Mountain. Will probably fire her up. I’m use to the 22’s. I’m already looking at modifications.

No planting today. Me and my son unloaded the compost and washed the truck out yesterday. I spread a bunch in the lawn after we mowed and trimmed. No need for TrueGreen here.

I know what your saying, Sic. I don’t have cats now, but I did growing up. They were all outside from the day they were born. I was a responsible cat owner and put out litter boxes for them. The neighbors appreciated it. That’s how your cats don’t come up missing by mad neighbor having to clean up after them. Living in the city the cats took care of the mice and rats. They were tough as nails. Fighting off other cats, dogs and running from coyotes. Ghetto cats.

Lazy ass day today.

Have a wonderful afternoon you all.

Morning all,

@sicman Good luck with the black cat. I used to have a black cat and it was my lucky charm.

@catherinew I am sure you'll have a wonderful time showing those new gardeners what gardening is all about. I hope they get the gardening bug.

@Tinker MondayI hope your after sales high will last you all week.

Monday again, I know the drill. A fresh start of the week and everything is possible.

I wanted to do my weekly grocery shopping yesterday, but there are some strikes at the distribution centers. It was like a lockdown flashback: lots of empty shelves.

We'll have dinner with what's in the cupboards this week. Yesterday was gnocchi with a jalapeño sauce. It was actually pretty good.

And so the week starts. Have a good one.

Morning all - today is May Day and a public holiday, no Monday morning blues for me - a day off yay!
Weather forecast is good - so we're having a bbq.
Need to get plants all labelled and checked out for tomorrow.
The potting on continues - I'll finish one day.
And various other chores today.
Have a good Monday - keep warm, cool, calm and smile, because yes, it's a day off :D

Wow @Ratatouille definitely shades of lockdown - buy toilet rolls just in case

Good morning. It's 38F (3C) on its way to 65F (18C). It should be sunny and crazy windy again. Had a gall bladder attack at 0100. I've been up most of the night. Hopefully, I'm now on the road to recovery. Not doing anything today. Just taking it easy. I probably need to do better job of watching what I eat. Ratty - Gnocchi with Jalapeno sauce sounds good. We've been trying to mostly eat out of the freezers and pantry for the entirety of the past year.

That's about it. Be safe and be good. S.M.I.L.E.

Good May morning. Spring weather 40-69F, and no rain. Maybe I’ll take the peppers out for a visit in the shade, and check out the bugs. Still transplanting tiny tomatoes, hope they grow quickly, though the garden won’t be ready for them for 3 weeks - just the plan. Many around here are itching to get their plants in the soil. Think I’ll be patient as I know Mother Nature has tricks up her sleeve.
Tinker, best of luck with your plant sale.
Ratat, sorry about your empty shelves. We also eat many meals from the freezer. I have w-a-y too many bags of broccoli! And yet, I grow more. It’s almost soup making time again.
Harry, hope you feel much better soon.
Enjoy your Monday. Love every minute outdoors. Hug a tree and stay healthy.

Good morning. It's overcast and 49F, on its way to 56F. A shower or two this morning and then clearing off. Picked up another 1/3" of rain yesterday - almost 2" in the last 3 days. We need it. Need to run to Lowes today. After hospital visit, going to replace the second toilet at BILs this afternoon. Then home and chill. Hope everybody has a marvelous Monday. Be safe out there.

Morning!

We have a day without rain again. Thursday is said to be exceptionally sunny. I'm spending that day in the office. 😀 Then It's rain again. Mostly drizzle I think, but still. I read that only 10% of potatoes and about 50% of onions for this year have been planted or sowed. The agricultural sector is not having an easy season. Maybe I should start selling my potatoes? 😂

Not much happening today. I've got enough to do at work, so that will keep me busy.

Eating the last of last year's dried beans tonight. I'm making a stew with some canned potatoes and canned tomato frito. Adding a mystery dried poblano-like pepper and some other herbs. Maybe even an onion if I'm feeling really adventurous. 🤔

@catherinew What's your favorite broccoli soup recipe, anything in particular I should try?

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Morning all - Tuesday is my Monday and it promises to be warm and sunny.
So not taking any chances I shall pop a pair of shorts into my bag who knows maybe my legs will get a bit of sun.
Working at the charity shop today, so it'll be fun fun fun and dogs all day.
And that's all I've got. Must dash, the peppers need to be brought out from the greenhouse to appreciate the sunshine :D
Have a good Tuesday, keep cool, calm, pain-free and smile :D

Another full day of mowing. Letting kittie, he is 5 months old out for good this morning. Sonya has let it out a couple times and it just walks around and she is able to go grab it. Will just open cage and leave it for 2 more days then its time to find its own shelter. Most cats end up living in the carport for the most part. Got one that lives in a tree and one that hangs out in the barn on the mowers. Have a great day and good morning.
