JCW's 2015 Glog

Well, here's to another year. I wanted to downsize from last year, and ended up practically doubling everything.  Started germinating on Jan 22 using paper towel method.  Tried 2 ways, one in cups with the seeds on top, other the way I have always done with the seeds in paper towel in ziploc.  Both have worked, but the paper towel in ziploc seems faster, maybe better temp control there.  So far have about 55 seeds in dirt after 11 days with many of them already popped up and looking happy.
 

 
Almost an embarrassing setup compared to many I see on here, but it worked great 10 years ago, and still worked fine last year so I figure no need to change yet.

Will need another rack of lights this year for the increase in volume I have.

Thanks, I got 2 orange primos going from seeds I got from you, both looking legit so far, vary primo looking, now all we need is some orange.  Got another from wicked mike and its looking good also, one of the varieties really looking forward to this year.

I dunno, I just keep it simple.  And I know too wet is bad, but maybe sometimes endless rain does a few good things.  Seems like it rained about 2feet in June, I know it wasn't but it was a lot.  I just dig a hole in my clay put in a mix of peat/top soil/composted manure/some bone meal and jobes orgainic tomato stuff, then walk away and hope for the best.  Probably won't feed or do anything with them rest of the year, they didn't need it last year, don't look like they will this year.

Early pods from Yellow Brain Strain and BOC X Orange Primo.  Future pods from those plants will look much more like expected.  Purple Jalapeno.   Not ripe but was showing some corking so figured I'd give it a try,  0 heat, hope it gets some if they ripen.

Told you a bit on messaging earlier, but here is some pics.  This was the first plant I set out in a pot back in mid to late april which is really early for here, but brought it in during the cold days and nights.  
Its getting a little lanky but seems very healthy, probably reading for a feeding soon.

Small harvest, never had even this many this early before.
 
Left is not Brazlian Ghost.  Generally the right shape, but chocolate color and smoother.  Heat is more like habenero level I would say.   Middle is yellow brain strain.  First few pods not looking brainy but the rest of them do.  Right is not chocolate barrackpore.  Its really thick walled, like it crossed with jalapeno or lemon drop or something.  Its pretty hot, probably about habanero level or a little above.

These orange primos looking nasty.

 

 
 
This is supposed to be 7 Pot orange.  The pods look a little smooth and the plant is very small, both unusual for a 7 Pot.  But for a plant that is only a foot tall, its loaded, and keeps setting more pods at the ends.  It'll never grow tall as the weight of the pods wouldn't allow it now.  I have 3 of these and all look have similar growth.  Also the leaves are lighter green than almost everything else.

I've got quite a few "nots" as well. I'm kind of divided- bummed that what I thought I was growing didn't turn out right, but happy to have something mysterious. I haven't yet, but I should start isolating for seeds on both those that are true & those that aren't that I like.
