just bought a new gun

Nova my friend I'm going to disagree with that statement too.

I've killed many gallon milk jugs in excess of 25 yards with my Ruger GP100 .357 mag.

Hitting things with a pistol just takes practice.

this was from about 30-50 ft away and the frist time we shot the gun.
we shot about 5 rounds each at 50ft.

and by the way nice gun patrick

Thanks guys.

We fill them almost full. Nothing like sending the cap 20 feet in the air. I love that.

I've never hunted with it, grew up in Iowa and it wasn't legal at the time. I would like to try it though I'm not sure if the .357 packs enough whoop ass to drop something like a deer. Maybe with the right bullet.

A head or heart shot would, but a 240 grain 44 hollow point knocks em down.

That's why I run at them while continuously firing and screaming bloody murder. Wouldn't it be fun to go hunting with me?

Do you think its a good idea to have the clips loaded with the gun?

why not ? it does no good to have a unloaded locked up gun when you really need it! do you tell the intruder to wait & hold on until ya get the gun & load it ;)
I always keep a gun loaded (except the chamber) & unlocked within easy reach in the bedroom. & its not un-normal around here to do so!
I can understand taking some extra cautions having young kids in the house but teach your kids how to properly handle firearms to reduce accidents (most accidents happen cuz of improper handling of firearms or no teaching at all!)

i would like to get a revolver one of these days, either a .44 or .357

nice 1911 & a sig to boot, sweet!!
I'd get a 44 mag over a 357, more power! I have a taurus 44 mag tracker & like it. the 357 can do the job but can be questionable sometimes for load/distance/animal, in bear country I'd rather have a 44mag.
I like my 92D centurion cuz of its no safetys & night sites, just wished it was a 40 instead.

with the right load & within its range a 357 will drop deer. the 357 is a legal big game round with the correct load. heck some states allow the 223 for big game
