Gotta love early pods Patrick.

Sounds like you have been having a blast on that new bike of yours.

Can't wait to see more porn!!!! :drooling:

Thanks guys. I'm finding pods everywhere. I have another Takanotsume under a HPS light that has pods on it.

Jamie I am having a wonderful time with it, thanks man.

haha thats awesome. I've been getting 1-2 ripe pods each day. Mostly my Annuums... But every now and then a hand full of chinense will ripen together... its been good :)

Your plants look great, Patrick. glad to see your grow season is a
continuing success! Will watch the Smart Pots with interest. I am
going to try some 7 gal. Root Pouches this summer. I imagine there
are similar issues with each.

Good growing, bro!

Oh man, that Ghost Lady's a really cool looking one and the pod color is amazing. I like it. Have you heard / read anything about taste / heat on those baby's? Really good looking grow there.

RM

Thanks again guys.

Paul I'll be watching you and your root pouches too. If you learn any tips or tricks pass 'em on and I'll do the same. Good luck

Rocketman I'm afraid I don't know much about the AISPES Ghost Lady. Hopefully I'll be able to either share a pod or powder with folks.

Couple of pics.

Yaotzin the Bengals are doing great. I ended up with three, gave one to a son. This is one of I kept. Hard to really see but the growth along the stem is fantastic! I seen a photo of my sons a few days ago and it's
looking even bigger and better.

The color of these pods was beautiful. I'm really hoping they'll come out looking like last year's.

Looking great Patrick! Isn't that the way it always goes, some of the plants I gave away are doing better than the ones I kept! Yours aren't slouches though!

I'd say things are looking just great, Patrick!
These last pics are really nice healthy specimens!

Good growing!

Finally getting around to checkin out a few glogs, glad I saw yours!
Your plants look great Patrick. That caramel bhut is a beauty!
Peppers in May?! Your off to quite a different start than you were at this time last year buddy!
Keep up the good work, hope everythings well with you

I ended up with 5 this year, none quite that big yet. If they are growing true once pods start forming they should be a bright almost neon looking green color. If they are a normal / darker green they are probably not growing true. FIngers crossed!

Thanks guys. BigCedar I was following your log but all of the emails I got to let me know someone posted to it were overloading my email box. Dang!!!

TPGM thanks for the heads up on pod color. I'll be on point for these to be bright and almost neon green. I'll let you know when they appear. Best of luck with yours.

I am growing a good amount of Caramel Bhut Jolokias this year. I'm excited about this one a lot and hoping for a few to grow true. I know it's a crapshoot, but I"m happy to try regardless! I've got caramels next to white next to peach lol. Next year, maybe a white caramel version with stripes? :)

Chris

Looks like the Peppa King o' Nebraska is at it again!

Borrowed one of your ideas: I've been trying several experimental container mixes and after much angst, finally settled on an 80 or 90% ProMix spiked with Happy Frog, and some extra perlite. It seems to be rockin' along!

Thanks guys, can't wait to see how they turn out. Chris if you get the white caramel with stripes I want seeds! :-) I only got one of the yellow bhut seeds you sent me to grow but sit's doing great. Will post pics when I have some pods. Grow on guys!

You got it! We'll call it Vanilla Caramel Bhut. :)

Siliman you pretty much hit on what I ended up going with. I got tired of spending money on Pro Mix HP, they get $45 per 3.8 cf here, so I've been using some of the last few years of growing medium that's been composting with leaves and grass for three years. Added a bit of Happy Frog and perlite and I'm quite happy with it. May have to do that again.

Meat I don't think the Caramel BJ and Cappuccino BJ are the same. Emphasis on think. I believe TPGM had a plant show up caramel colored either last year or the year before and he's been very generous with the seeds. I'm not familiar with the origins of the Cappa BJ. Maybe there's somebody who can help with this.

Vanilla Caramel Bhut. I'd eat one of those because of the name! Got to be sweet and chewy and oh so hot.

Time for a couple of pics.

Did a bit of sorting today. I put all of the Trinidad Scorpions, Butch T, Morouga Blend, AISPES Yellow, Chocolate in one spot.

The 7 Pots, Brain Strain, Red, Primo, SB7J and Congo. They start at the Home Depot orange bucket and go left.

The ones on the right are my AISPES peppers, White Cat, WbjW, Ghost and Ghost Lady. I'm not real happy with any of them right now. They just aren't showing a lot of growth. The night time temps have been on the cool side. Hopefully with summer almost here they'll get to growing.

Now the rest of the story.

Start with the back row, left. First five are red and yellow Scotch Bonnets. I've got a couple of pods on one plant that should be starting to ripen soon. Freaking crazy! The last two on the far right are Fatalii's and they're trying to get past a mite problem. Might end up losing the top of both plants. There are two Infinity plants in there someplace.

Second row from the left. The Thai peppers, orange, bird sh er uh poop, Pepperoncini and a couple of Takanotsume plants

Third row is the Naga's. Naga Morich, "Not a Black" Naga, Bengal Naga.

The the final three up front are the Caramel Bhut Jolokia's. These three plants are loving their set up. Almost every square centimeter on every branch or stem has leaves on it. The one on the left may end up getting repotted into a 15 gallon Smart Pot. I've been waiting for one plant to step up as I only picked up one 15 gal container for this year.

I have a few more Thai plants, 7 Pot Chaguanas and 7 Pot Bubblegum plants to pot up and get outside.

Patrick, plants are coming along nicely. Looks like you are batteling the same things I am with mother nature only reversed. Those caramel bhuts are looking lush. I have one sbj7 that is starting to grow like mad a a madballz that is thinking about growing ;) . Thanks for the update now get back on that bike and cruise :drooling:
