Here we go again! Time is just jetting by and it's hard to believe it's time to get started again. It is though and ain't that wonderful!

I may be moving this summer so going small this year. Here's what I got started tonight:

7 Pot Brain Strain x 4
7 Pot Congo x 2
7 Pot x 3
Armageddon x 2
Bengal Naga x 3
Bhut Jolokia, Caramel color x 6
Not the Black Naga x 2
SB7J x 4
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T x 10
Trinidad Scorpion Morouga Blend x 6

The seeds are in coco coir in 3 oz dixie cups. They will be covered and on a heat mat with the temp set at 84F.

Matt I'm thinking TPGM sent half the pepper growing folks in the world caramel BJ seeds, someone has to be lucky.

The one plant is still giving me hope the caramel BJ will grow true. The pods on it are much lighter than the others. Keep your fingers crossed.

There's still hope! Thanks for the updates on this plant, like yuo fingers crossed your last chance plant will turn the caramel color. I have 5 going...no pods yet but shuould pop any day.

Here's a shot of my SB7J. Sure looks like it's going to retain the shape. I am stoked!

TPGM here's a shot of the lighter colored Caramel BJ. It reminds me a lot of the MadballZ's I grew last year. They had a similar color to yours. I think this one may be a winner. Fingers will remain crossed.

That's awesome man, 99.9% sure that will grow true. Thats exactly the color they should be while still green.

Howdy all. Apologies for the slow response time. No reason to mess around lets go straight to video......er uh photos!

First up is the SB7J. I'm happy to say it looks like they are going to look the same as last years. Stoked with a capital S!

I would love to hear how others are doing.

The Bengal Naga.

First time growing so not sure what it's supposed to look like. It appears to have a few "stripes" along the pod. Very excited about this one.

7 Pot Primo

This was a last second decision to plant and I'm glad I did. Should be a winner.

Infinity, I think.

Anyone agree/disagree? I lost the marker to a couple when I was potting them up.

The smart pot.

DSC021552300x1725.jpg

I had a dirt spill that I didn't get around to cleaning up until now. This side of the pot had about five inches of dirt along side it. I guess the roots took advantage of it and they went a roaming. Cool stuff. The verdict is still out on if I like these or not.

That's it for now. Take care all.

Patrick your plants are looking sweet and that caramel bhut looks :hot: . It may be a while til I get pods on my sbj7 and my madballz but you will be the first to get a sneak peak:).

As for the Infinity I was given some from another member( sstupperware) and they look just like my Brain strains but more like the morouga shape if you know what I mean :fireball:

And that is some serious root structure for that smart pot. Kudos on the mykos

Bengal and SB7J look amazing! I couldn't tell you on the Infinity...mine isn't true or is a mutation. If you can get a positive ID on that one I will be interested to see how they turn out. Really want to see the ripe version of your Bengal as well. Good job brother!

Looking good man! Glad the Bengle naga is producing for you. Our slow rainy season has stalled a few of my plants but they are finally breaking into life. When I spoke to Michael Michaud he recons that the Bengle naga could be hotter than his Dorset naga when he had them heat tested As the average was a lot higher:
Bengle Naga: 732,000 – 923,000 SHU
Dorset Naga: 544,000 – 1,032,000 SHU

Looking great, Patrick. I took some pictures of your SB7J that's in my foiltunnel, it suffered severe damage due aphids and sun scald. As you can see in the middle of the picture there was only a stem from around 8inch left but is branching out and forming buds :D

How the other one is doing I will ask my father in law tomorrow ;) since it already had buds 2 weeks ago I assume it's about too flower.

Glad to see your SB7J is taking on the shape you're looking for! Mine has set more pods, but none of them are taking on that cool 'mushroom-like' shape you've got going on. My other SB7J is going to be flowering soon, I'll let you know if they turn out different, but considering both came from seeds from the same pod, I doubt they'll have any variance.

WOOHOO! Congrats on the SB7J! I am still disappointed on mine not germin...it was in that weird period where I was still figuring everything out, so chalk that one up to user error....

It is good to see that you have some stripage as well. I have a few (Jonah, Bhut Choc, Bhut Brown, and one or 2 others) that have that purplish striping. They look pretty sick, and I was about to post a thread on it. But if you have em, they must be common.

Cant wait to see some ripe pods comin out for ya, and from the looks of it, it wont be long!

Happy Growing!

Thanks guys! Been on a little vacation but I'm back now and ready to go! I hope everyone is having success with their grows this year.

Appreciate the well wishes Mike, thanks. How are yours doing?

Jamie you're right on the Bengal Naga being hot! I swear if it isn't the hottest thing I've ever tried it's darn close. I think the heat wave we're having is having a huge influence on the amount of heat in the pods. I can water every plant late in the evening and by 7 p.m. the next day they're showing signs of wilting--big time stressing! My son tried to eat half of one and after chewing for about a minute he didn't have the boys to swallow it and ended up spitting it out in the sink. Spent the next 20 minutes shoving ice cream in his mouth. He taped it with his phone but is having a hard time up loading it. If I can get it I'll post it. He said it's pretty embarrassing. I know better than to video tape myself.

Shane when I get another ripe Bengal Naga I'll make sure you get a chance to see it. Got one getting close I think, pic below.

Yao, I'm not getting a lot of flowers or buds on either of the two Bengal Nagas right now, I think the night time temps are too hot. I did sample, a very small sample mind you, a Bengal Naga and it freaking murdered me. My tolerance is down to jalapeno's being hot.

Stefan, looks like that SB7J wants to produce for you. Hope it does bro.

Spice, yep the SB7J came from seed from the previous years hybrid. The pod in the pic below is pretty darn close to what they looked like last year too. If the plant would get around to setting some more pods I would have more pics. Plenty of time left in this summer.

MJ thanks for offering to post some pics of your SB7J. I haven't heard if any of the seeds I sent out are growing true pods or not yet and am getting very curious.

SS you just tell me what you want man and they're on the way.

Matt please post pics of your striped pods--the more pod porn around here the better! I don't think they're very common at all.

Alright now on to a couple of pics.

First up is the SB7J pod I picked last night. It's pretty darn close to last years size and shape. The bumps aren't quite as sharp though. I so dig these babies.

The lone Bengal Naga pod.

This is one of the three Caramel BJ's I have growing and based on the color of the green pods we didn't think it was going to ripen to the caramel color. Happy to say wrong on that one! In fact onl one of the three had the correct green color but all three are producing caramel colored pods.

Hey, Patrick! Long time since I visited - glad to see such
great looking pods and plants in the heartland, my friend!

Hope your grow continues to crank it up for you, bud!
Looking forward to more nice pics!

I had mite problems earlier in the season...got a few starting to look that way again. The Bonide spray worked freaking great! Although the aphids keep coming back in force it really took care of my mite issues.
Shane, which Bonide product did you use? I got some
Bonide Fruit Tree Spray, but when I looked at the label closely,
it contained malathion, which kills everything, including bees.
I thought it was organic, but NO! Maybe there is a way to use
it so the beneficials aren't affected? I used some Neem
on my affected plants instead. The Bonide is going back
to Ace asap! Do they have a less nuclear product? The Ace place
is the only store I've found it at in our neighborhood.

Yeah I'm feeling kind of guilty about neglecting folks around here Millman. Afraid the peppers are taking second place to riding the scoot for now. I'll try and do better.

Me too SS. I'll save some of the seeds for ya.

Hey Pauly! Good to hear from you too amigo.
