Pods Ripe

I know it's not a hot one, but it is the first one to ripen out of all the office pods. :)

My Ring of Fire Cayennes should follow next week! :onfire:

Sweet googly-moogly you've got some cooking to do real soon.

My hawaiian sweet-hots turned out to be neither hot nor sweet and rather large and poblano-like. I killed them off. Let me know how yours turn out.
I'm also growing 3 black scorpion tongues - one of which is green, the other two are purple. None have started to ripen yet and I just potted up the best one.

Carol,I'm tryin' to keep up!My Sweet Hots are about 2.5",got them in a trade, assuming they are true...I'm thinking a fresh salsa, gotta go with pineapple.Unfortuneately my pineapples are a couple weeks from ripe.Probably some mint also, have to do a search on Hawaii flava for some herbal influence.
I'm thinking of drying the Scorpion Tongues, adding them to some Hummus for a spread on some toasted flatbread.Of course red ripe with Hummus would probably work!Xtra Garlic here.

That's the right size for those Sweet Hots T. Cayenne type heat with a good flavor. They make a fantastic powder IMO, you'll have plenty of them for that. Very good producer.

Starting to get ripening on my late starts. Some didn't break ground until the first part of March. Next year I'll get them going sooner. Choc hab is still green and congo brown just setting fruit. Aji Amarillos aren't doing much of anything except stretching.

1st ripe Thai Dragon... these seem extra long so they might be mislabeled? Vert sweet but not very hot.

great looking peppers Carol...I love the photo of the Tabasco...

I love the black scorpion tongue Carol. I've never heard of it. It looks absolutely wonderful!

Does it taste as good as it looks?

Great looking pods folks!I'm just about drowned out here.1 week of rain, followed by 2 weeks of drought, heat index ave. 110`,now 1 week of downpours again.Annuums shot.Chinenses all washed out of nutes, flowers not setting. And I'm just getting to the "wet"season!Anyway,I've had a great harvest,at least a few gallons of sauce and pickled peppers!I'm not giving up I'm planting new seed now, actually started a couple weeks ago and have a few up.All my big plants need re-potted,should give them new life, kind of like overwintering, just oversummering here!

Damn Floridians!

J/K! It's funny that you guys have to deal with too much sun and heat. Seems here in the mountains of NC that pepper growing conditions are ideal once they finally get here, and as long as they last! Hope the re-pot works out welll Scoville, and it's been great to see your pods this season!

Continually more and more beautiful pictures. PeteyP, on the last pic you have a plant prolific as can be. Is it a datil? I have a little yellow datil in my growtent right now. Would be fun to know how they will look :)

Haven't tried a ripe one yet - the purple ones taste... purple. It's getting darker by the day and should be red soon. Scoville's way ahead of me on that.

It is an Aji Limon (Chinense). Literally hundreds of pods on a 2ft. bush-like pepper. The pods have a Habanero type taste with a bit of citrus-like overtones. The taste varies from pod to pod with respect to the level of "citrusiness". Pods on average are about 1 inch with the largest being no more than 1.5 inches. Very, very prolific pepper!

Long choc hab is ripening now. This is my only chocoalte variety so I can hardly wait!

I am wondering if it is crossed or not. I only have the one plant so can't tell if there's consistancy. They're a bit bumpy at the top then smooth out toward the bottom. Measuring to about 2.25 - 2.5".

1st node pods. The one on the left is looknig a bit reddish, moreso in the deepest parts of the wrinkles. Don't know if it will turn all the way red or stay brown.

2nd node pods just starting to turn color.
