food What was the last spicy meal you cooked?

Butter chicken. I ended up dicing two extra rocotos into the sauce, cuz yeah, rocoto

Love butter chicken and a rocoto sounds like a great way to give it some zip. The makhani they make at my favorite place is just heaven and its mildly spicy. Not really a bad thing though cuz the goat curry is really hot and i gorge on both.
 
Im pretty much a cheater when it comes to the makhani sauce. Ive never quite mastered making it from scratch. Its usually too acidic. I get the small ready to eat packs from Swad or MTR. I doctor it up with a dash of cream, fresh cilantro, shallots and dry spices.

In Korea they are called mandoo or mandu. I found a Assi brand with kimchi and pork that are as good as any ive eaten at a restaurant. They are really large with thick wrappers and excellent for potsticker style. I love the things so if i go to a Dim Sum brunch its gets rather expensive.
 
 
agreed, even with as inexpensive as dim sum can seem at first 
when you got half a dozen hungry dudes, and their wife each
all them little delicious dishes add up quick  :D
totally worth it though, if only for the perfect combo of; good food with friends though   :metal:
and considerably less still, then the same group of people trying to even find a spot somewhere else and trying random new stuff off a different menu.
i miss going out for dim sum  :mope:
 
need to get the guys together for that again soon.

I never leave a yum cha without spending at least $20. 5-6 people at a big round table and a lazy susan in the center. Always take someone that is fluent in Chinese, Mandarin, Cantonese...whatever...If you want stuff off of the "super secret menu". My favorite place is a total zoo for Saturday brunch. We used to have a really good buffet with a surprisingly good dim sum selection too. LOTS of really uncommon authentic stuff like spicy beef tendons or kidney. Both served cold like a salad. A jellied pork that reminded me of rotten Spam or bad headcheese. :D
