Ok here is my winter babies, spent all their time in the garage under twin fluro's then out onto the driveway that gets about 2 hours of direct sun a day to harden them off.

I was explaining to my partners son how seeds pop and we just so happened to be chopping up a large sweet capsicum at the time.
He asked if the seeds would grow from it, i said i really didn't know but we could try. There are approx 50 seedlings in there!
I decided yesterday to see if i could get them to grow in Perlite, so i potted them up and gave them a water. Will see how they go competing for space as i am not going to cull any of them! Should be interesting.

I agree with what megamoo is saying.
Plus if something is going to go wrong it the likelihood is it would probably happen to all of your plants not just a select one.
I do the opposite and save a few seed for insurance.
Also unless you are isolating your plants the seeds that you will be saving from them may be cross pollinated so you are prob better off buying fresh seed the following season.
Yeah, going to hold off, I forgot I have a few seeds already in the germination peltier fridge. 2 bonda ma jacques and one yellow 7 pot seed germinated today in plastic so I put the seeds in potting mix.
Also one choc scorpion sprouted up from it's pot today anyway.

I think I have too many chilli plants as it is (if that's possible)

Also I noticed a plant from last year (a NOT naga/ 7 pot) that never produced last year, (all flowers dropped off), has actually now started podding. So I get to find out what that plant really is finally!

Ok guys I want your honest opinion... i know this isn't the right place to ask but thought since we already talk about anything it doesn't really matter, plus if it's a stupid idea then at least only a few of you have seen it :)

I was thinking of perhaps doing home parties with hot sauce - bit like tupperware, book clubs etc. Now I know most of the home party plan things are mostly attended by women so my question is would you as a bloke ever hold one??? I'm asking guys because I think the majority of hot sauce lovers are men.
What perhaps if you regularly get together with your mates for cards nights and then had someone come round for an hour or so to show you products and tastings. Do you think you or your mates would buy anything?
Is this a stupid idea or do you think it could work?

I think around xmas/fathers day more women would be interested in having it as they could buy it as presents for family and friends.

thats why i thought if it was your normal guys night it might be ok? Hey at least if you were drunk then perhaps more money would be spent?

I think these days you'll have great success with the 18-25 age group. That generation seems to get into cooking with the MasterEverything that's around. My generation can't cook for s***.
Plus they're in that age where they can 'eat any pepper you throw at them', or so they'll say ;)

Hey Gassy, i checked last night and i have one seed left of the uber rare Galapogonese. Ya want it?

Well, at this stage my two little Galap babies *appear* to be in a stable condition (i.e. they haven't carked it yet!) but thanks for the offer bro!

I tell ya what though, did you happen to have any of them Pimenta da Neyde seeds spare that I could trouble ya for? I have still yet to get one of the bloody things from my batch to pop!

Sounds like something I would definitely attend.... 'specially if beer was involved! :D

To be honest though, couldn't really see myself ever hosting anything like that (then again, I don't even hold parties full-stop.... I'm one of them bums who relies on others to do that! ;))

I think the best chance of a guy holding one of these is if their partner has a tupperware thing. I know one friends wife often has one of those types of parties, and all the partners normally go together to meet up with the other blokes and have a BBQ, watch footy or go to the pub, ie rescue the guy whos wife is holding the event, get to have fun and not have to drive home :)
I think guys would have a good chilli sauce party that way, as there would be a reason to go to one if the partner is going to the tupperware/clothing/jewelry party. Guys would buy sauces if only to make some poor unlucky guy be the entertainment and have heaps of it, there'd have to be copious amounts of beer on offer.

But a stand alone guys chilli sauce party? Not really, unless it's at someones house hosting a grand final or world cup match or something.

You are in luck Gassy, i have five more seeds of Pimenta Da Neyde. From memory i got about 50% germ.
I also have Pimento Da Bico (the chinense hot type of Rubber Nipple) here too if you would like those as well.
Addy me bruz!

What you need to understand Candice is that women need and crave to be involved.

Men hate that because it interrupts drinking time. :D

Anyone know if extreme/strong wind can cause distorted new growth ? Since the cold wind in the weekend I have what looks like bruising type issues on some leaves and twisty new growth on a couple of plants namely the pimenta de neyde which did get a bit of a battering
