    A Mysterious Love Story......

I eat tons of Pimenta de Cheiro when I'm in Brazil, but never had any elsewhere. I guess they're kinda hab-ish, but the climate does things to my senses when I'm there so they might be exactly hab-ish and I'm not making the connection. That said, I also think that there's a few varieties of...

    Major discovery

Oh c'mon, the rotting wetland smell is pretty much gone once you pass Elizabeth (where you get a fine blend of wetland and industrial smells). There's a whole lotta Parkway past that. Raised off Pkwy Ex 168, Jersey represent.

Pimenta de Cheiro, from the Brazilian Amazon, very tasty indeed.

    My new Toy

Hmmm. My memory fails me. I know I've drank from a few, but actually can't say 100% that the disconnects were the same and for sure can't recall the brands. When I lived in MI, there were a couple of local micros that would fill cornys... yum. And btw, just so as not to completely hijack, nice...

It's a fairly simple task to convert a chest freezer to a kegerator. I know a few folks that have them by scoring used freezers for

Michigan seems well represented here by current or former residents, unlike South Dakota (I think I'm the only one). not that I'm surprised

water Anyone using automated drip irrigation system?

I like it. Don't think that my plants get any less attention because of it and when I do have to go out of town for work it's one less thing to worry about. I like having a few extra ball valves strategically placed so I can shut off some lines when I move containers around.

    Pod Pilferers and the Law

Whoa. See... really I was just kind of curious about potential liability of a "crime of opportunity/curiosity/stupidity". Like someone walking home from the bar, a teenage dare, or some such. Not really anything with a malicious intent. Not something that I really worry a lot about, it just...

Scotch bonnets, squash, mushroom,Jamaican hot etc

Indeed Potawie, great thread. When I first found THP I searched long and hard for the thread that this promises to become. As a 1st year grower who is already hooked, and a huge fan of the true SB, I am utterly confused as to the naming and varieties out there. No fear of experimentation, but...

Recommend me some pepper/chiles with real flavour... that won't kill me :)

Sooo... the distributor that shows a picture of a pepper with a bonnet shape, lists them as "squash" and says they're the same as "mushroom"... not listing species for either... Um, I guess that really doesn't end with a question, just adds to the confusion. I guess I sort of hijacked this...

Hmmm... that's what I thought I meant, but seem to remember seeing the words "squash" and "annuum" somewhere. I thought that might be what AJ was referring to as annuum SBs.

Oddest type of meat that you enjoy eating.

Oh, the only thing I worry about is if my current source dries up and I have to explain yet again: "Yes, I really want 5 lbs of chicken hearts... no... just hearts... yes, I eat them."

Oddest type of meat that you enjoy eating.

Everybody I encounter in the US on the topic thinks it's freaky, butchers and such included. I got turned on to them in Brazil, but here... folks ain't into 'em. I love 'em.

Are these the same peppers that are sometimes referred to as Squash Jamaican Yellow/Red??
