Mako akokosrade - seed collected in Ghana

I grew out some mako kokoo peppers from seeds that I got from Joe Delaney. They're fantastic peppers, it seems that Ghanian peppers are very useful in the kitchen! I made bacon poppers with some of them and it turned out to be delicious

health What's Wrong With My Hydro Peppers?

That sounds about right, 6.0-6.7 pH is a bit too high for hydro but is right for soil.

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

Thanks for the kind words guys! Unfortunately I won't be able to grow in my dorm room, but I think the college here has a community garden with a 10'x20' plot of land that I can rent for $35 per year. I'm planning on trying to get a plot and keep growing peppers!   Meanwhile, here are...

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

Sorry guys, its been a while, I kind of got caught up in life and didn't have time to post here. The plant ended up dying in the summer because the aphids kept coming back, which combined with heat stress, made all the leaves drop and the plant to die.   I did plant a kpakpo shito seed in a...

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

I would but unfortunately due to an aphid infestation all my flowers fell off. On the bright side the canopy has pretty much filled the net by now; I'll try to get pictures up soon.

tutorial A Simple Guide to Topping and Pruning

Dave is right when it comes to pruning the leaves off. Leaves act as a sugar source, and the plant still uses them for energy. However, I still prune my leaves when needed because the added benefit of airflow outweighs the negativity of the loss of energy. But other people are also correct in...

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

Thanks! I'm wondering if I would be able to achieve similar robustness with an annuum by using aggressive topping and pruning techniques. The top I was trying to root had some troubles, but there are some small white roots sticking out of the cube. I may try to plant it outside and see what...

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

UPDATE: Sorry for not updating in a while, I've been busy with graduation and my senior project. However, I finished my project and I'm graduating in a month, so hopefully I will have more time to update! Day 98 You can see how bushy the plant has become due to the topping. Day 100 The...

Help! what the heck! I have gnats... LOTS of gnats!!

Make sure the top of your dirt or other medium is bone dry. This will deter the gnats from laying the eggs.

tutorial A Simple Guide to Topping and Pruning

It depends. The healthier and more vigorous the branch is, the better results that you will get. For instance, I took two clones from my bahamian goat pepper like a month ago, one from the bottom, and one from where I topped the plant. The bottom one died pretty quickly, but the top one is doing...

tutorial A Simple Guide to Topping and Pruning

You can top at any time you want! Topping pretty much redirects hormones (mainly auxin and gibberellins) to the lower branches of the plant, which is what allows them to branch out. So yes, you can top as much as you want, just don't top too many at a time because you reduce the number of leaves...

    Windchicken 2013

Yeah it's pretty flexy. I think its meant for downhill and for doing dances on when you are on flat terrains. Here is a video of it in action by the company that made it.

    Windchicken 2013

Its actually my first longboard, as I just recently got into skating so that I wouldn't have to bike around campus when I start college in September. So I don't really know about the softness of the wheels, but the trucks are from the Paris Company. I think the longboard is around 55" or so...

idosimon's 2012-2013 Hydroponic Indoor Bahamian Goat Pepper SCROG

Not only is it having a positive effect, but it is making it harder to prune. UPDATE: Day 80: The plant reached a height of 8 inches, so I topped it. Here it is after pruning. The stem was super thick and hard, and even with Fiskars, I wasn't able to cut through all the way in one cut...
