Pulpiteer 2017 Grow Log
It's kind of hard to believe, but I'm starting my 6th year of glogging on this site.  It's been a great place, even thought I've not had the time for it the last couple of years.  So, I thought I'd leave a link here to my past glogs, mostly for my own use if I want to reference back to them, they'll be in this one place.  Here they are:  2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.     I've gotten off to a late start this year, but things are rolling a bit now.     Here's the grow list as of now:   A couple of things right off the bat: I've once again had trouble with germination this year. I know I have a few really old seeds, but I also have new seeds from good vendors or great folks on this site, and the problems are not in just one area, so I...
Coheed196's 2017 Grow
So, I'm late in starting my glog but with 2 youngsters running around, it's hard to find time to do anything. I don't have any pictures of the plants at germination stage or transplanting or anything like that but I'll try to give you a quick run down. Germinated seeds in a peat moss/coco coir mix back in early March. Once they sprouted I moved them into solo cups with holes in the bottom under the T5's. From there they went into 1 gallon pots and now most are in 7 gallon root pouches and a few are in 5 gallon root pouches. Using Pro-mix with some kelp meal and compost added. Anyways here's some pictures of the plants as of a week or so ago. I'll have to go out when it stops raining and get my whole grow list written...
Hi all! New to the forum I have grown tomatoes indoors twice with my Grandad using an led panel he had bought. I'm no expert. I had this pepper plant (smaller one of the two pics) given to me as a present so decided to go and buy another and came back with this Jalapeno plant so I'm happy with what I've got play with. I repotted them today and watered them thoroughly with some liquid seaweed and root boost. Will probably leave them to dry right out now and hope the sun comes back out as it has been recently! In the Midlands here Any tips or help are more then welcome Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
RocotoMan's 2017 Outdoor Grow Glog In Pennsylvania
This year the lineup consists of Aji Amarillo, MOA Scotch Bonnet both from judy at pepperlover.com & Red Rocoto from seedsaversexchange.com. There isn't much in the way of plants to show yet so I figured I'd post the fertilizers and amendments I'll be using. Stick around, say hello and hopefully it will be a good year full of pods.   The Rocoto seeds are from these 2 plants I grew back in 2014.   Alfalfa Meal   Earthworm Castings   Excelerite   Indonesian Bat Guano   Jamaican Bat Guano   Mexican Bat Guano   Peruvian Seabird Guano
2017 Grow Update
All of my photobucket links died on my last topic, so I'll just start anew.  It's been about 2 months since the seeds hit dirt, and I'm pretty happy with their progress.  Here's a picture of the leaf of the first "wild" variety I've attempted to grow, c. praetermissum.    Some interesting variegation occurring in this plant. It looks like shit though because the damn cat chewed it a bit. I believe it is a goat's weed cross, has anyone seen this before in a variety?    Super hairy pubescens! Thanks Malarky!    All of them chugging along! Anyone have any suggestions? I'm feeding with fish emulsion when I water about once a week, they've been outside when it's warm but we've been getting a lot of strong wind over here so I'd rather...
BeerInHand 2017 Grow Log
Planning on growing out 650 seedlings on an ebb and flow/flood table in my basement under lights. Last winter I grew about 75 seedlings in a tyvek tent I threw together powered by an old metal halide. Pricing out a commercial flood table was pretty depressing. The cheapest I could find was $160 and pallet-based shipping waaaay more than doubled the price. After many hours of deep thought, I came up with following design, which is much sturdier and heated as well!   My design uses a single 4x8 sheet of PVC cut into three 8' strips 5" wide, and the remaining sheet 8'x33" wide. to create a ~ 95" x 32" flood table with 5" sides. First a frame is built using 2x8 and 2x3s.     1x8s are screwed on to create the sides, and the 5" PVC strips...
NinjaR's Super Awesome Pepper Explosion Show Log
I guess I'll start keeping a grow log.  At the moment, I have 15 reaper and 15 ghost pepper juveniles and 26 habanero seedlings.  The habs are on their third sets of leaves, so I'll probably be transplanting them soon.  The reapers and GPs are in Solo cups under grow lights waiting for the temperatures to get warm. Today's temperature outside was an unseasonably warm 81 degrees, so I set the reapers and GPs outside for a couple of hours.  Curiously, the cotyledons on some dropped.  Otherwise, they looked just fine.  I was a little hesitant to put them outside because I didn't want any sort of weird fungi or weed seeds or anything else blowing in their cups. After I set them outside, I fired up the old Troy-Bilt tiller -- this thing is...
New Patio Grow Log - Early Spring 2017!
Now that I've finished moving out of my old apartment with its north-facing sunless balcony and into a single-story apartment with a wonderfully sunny patio - hence the title of this grow log - I'm trying to grow more chiles again!  (In addition to other sun-appreciating plants.)     I started another guilt-trip batch of habanero seeds - the children of at least one of my earliest habaneros, who died last year - right before leaving the old apartment, about a month ago.  Some of them sprouted roots within one week, and now a few of them are growing their second set of true leaves.  Partly because those seedlings' extremely rapid growth surprised me, this log is actually for keeping track of the growth of the seeds I just started.  ...
Refrigerator ghosts - 2017
This is my second grow log of the year, because my over-a-year-old bhut jolokia - which is now a beautifully straggly small bush taking up a few square feet of patio sunlight - finally decided to stop sullenly shedding flowers and produced one ripe fruit with six seeds in it.  My friend harvested that and all of the other chiles' fruit that ripened while I was out of town and put it in the fridge, which admittedly saved me from walking into an apartment full of rotting chiles and feasting insects but may have killed the seeds.     But I'm going to give them a chance to disprove that!  I wrapped them in a damp paper towel and sealed them in a plastic container, and I'll check on them every few days and see what happens!  I want more...
Aeroponic Peppers 2017
Heey guys my name's Alex I'm new here and thought I'd Chuck up my chilli grow so far!! I had a few chilli seeds and wanted to see how they would go. I had never grown anything from seed before but wanted to get to it. I used 20 wee Coco discs and put them in the hot water cupboard. It didn't quite go to plan tho as they grew mould. I managed to save just 6. I realised I was a bit premature though as its just gone winter here, I thought I'd give hydro a go. I researched lots of different techniques but aeroponics tickled my fancy. I like how it's technical and efficient. From day 1 I've used eggmont neutrients a & b as seedlings. I know people say you shouldn't but they loved it. So I started to make a design and source parts. The...
Update on my glog
So most of my plants are looking fairly good but I have a few questions 1 being how long does it take roughly for the fruits to start changing color and second a lot of my pods look the same but are different species for example some of my butch T pods look identical to my moruga scorpions any ideas? Local's 1st Glog - Perth, Western Australia
Hey Everyone,   Quick intro, I'm from Perth in WA. Just bought a house recently so I now have some room to grow.   So I'm relatively new to this, I have only grown from seed once before but mostly just bought seedlings and grown them in pots.   Since I bought my new place I thought that it would be a good idea to plant my chillies in the ground instead of pots, well that was a mistake.     This is about two weeks after the replanting.     The winter has been a little longer than normal this year but they are bouncing back now with the weather heating up.   I now have all the seeds for this years grow;   - From Chilli Seed Bank Scotch Bonnet Red   - From Hippy Seed Company St Martin's Habanero Butch T Scorpion 7 Pod Yellow Sannam...
Ozzys small break from brewing 2017
Well, it's that time again. I actually didn't sow a single seed this year :(. I had way too much last year and honestly brewing is my number 1 hobby now. So I'm taking it a bit easier this year. Still have these over winters. I plan to sow seeds again next season, but this year I just couldn't find the motivation, not too mention we're are always crazy busy with my kids competitive swimming. Anyway, I did manage to get planted for this season. Tomatos, cucumbers, plenty of jalapeños, bells, and some habs. I still have room for a few more rows. I ordered some plants from Refining to fill those in. The soil is looking killer. The last 2 seasons of compost added have really helped. The black matting I put down worked...
Powellbanger's Adelaidian Balcony
Hi All, Thought I may as well start a grow log and show you my peppers and introduce myself a bit   I'm 26, live in Adelaide, South Australia and immigrated here from England in 2001. I work for a major IT corporation as a Subject Matter Expert for a major Australian bank. My day to day activities are improving processes for things that don't actually matter and figuring out how to get pointless tasks completed quickly so that some guy in Sydney can do whatever unnecessary thing they wanted to do by close of business.   Due to my talent of being adequate at whatever I try instantly, this season has been the first time I've decided to give some plants a go and get the most out of my afternoon-sun facing balcony. I've not killed anything...
Carolina Reaper (HP22B) Community Grow
A few members including myself are growing seeds for this variety ASAP. I and a few others here on THP thought it would be fun to have a "community glog" strictly for this variety, a fun thread about the HP22B and growing this pepper for the first time. I think we should start a community glog like this anytime there is a new pepper with alot of attention and alot of people growing it, possible world record holder or not. It would be fun, and this should be fun! That's why we all love this hobby is it not? Therefore, this will be a drama-free, controversy-free, fun glog for all of us growers and others to enjoy. If you grow, please chime in. If you're growing this variety, please post pictures and chime in about your observations...
My first Glog and my second year growing peppers 2016 (From Oz)
Hi all my name is Chad and I'm from Aust. This is my first Glog & my second year growing peppers. I think I have gone a little over the top this year. :D But hey you can never have enough peppers right?    I started all from seeds except for two that I bought today.         These are the two I bought today, I had never heard of these peppers before today.         Here are some of my over wintered peppers

CAPCOM's "ultimate offer to newbies" project - Zonengorg's Glog
Hi, this is a project in wich I got the luck to get in, this project is promoted by CAPCOM (to who I am very thankful for trust in me) all the seeds are a mistery and only, until we get the pods/fruits, we will receive the names of the variety we have http://thehotpepper.com/topic/62141-a-ultimate-offer-to-newbies/   This is just a partial project since I had planned another project on my own, but still will take care of this project as part of my main one. The selection was random.   I received my seeds by the end of january:     I sowed them on feb/17/2017   26 x 3 6 x 3 18 x 2 23 x 3 25 x 3 5 x 3 12 x 3 27 x 3 7 x 3 9 x 3 11 x 3 4 x 3     mar/01/2017 update germination so far (11 days):   26 x 3 = 100% 6 x 1 = 33.33% 18 x 0 = 0% 23...
Bpoole's 2015 grow
Just going to start by saying how excited I am about this grow season. I didn't try to grow anything too hot until it was too late last year. By August I had about 15 Bhuts and 3 Scorpion plants. I gave half to my cousin but most of his died and mine became infested with aphids and just couldn't get rid of them so now I only have 3. Last year I grew the normal peppers you find at walmart and only aout 4 varieties. This year I am stepping it up to about 30 different types. Most of the seeds I got from beerbreath81 who got them from other members and a site www.tradewindsfruit.com and also some seeds from Dougthehead. Below is my grow list. I would also like to grow some other chocolate types, hot chocolate, reaper, and fatali. I also...
Aeroponic indoor grow log
Well I figured I'd start a grow log. I have a 4.5'X4.5'X6.5' grow tent with a 1000w MH bulb for vegging and a HPS for flowering. A Big Kahuna air cooled hood with a 474 CMF fan sucking the hot air out as well as another 300CFM. I am using 2 35 gallon totes with 8 sites per tote. This is an aeroponics setup. In one tote I have 7 naga jalokias and 1 jalapeno growing. In the other tote I have 5 nagas and 1 redfire chili. I'm using 3 part jungle juice with RO water and Calmag. I've been have pretty decent results so far. I just transplanted the rest of the pepper plants from my Aerogarden into the second tote today The jalapeno was started about 3 weeks before everything else. The plants in the second tote are about 12 days old and the...
Guitarman 2016: colourful heat
Hi guys, it's time to open my 2016 glog. eventhough i put the first seeds in the dirt in January. Last year i had 80% or more of my list being composed by superhots, some unstable hybrids which turned out to be different from what i expected. So this year i went on less superhots (half of the varieties, or less) and more classic and colourful ones. At the moment i have about 100 plants, but i plan to end up with 65-70, i'll give away the remaining to some friends, i only keep them for the first months in case of death of other plants. So here's what i'm growing:   C.Chinense   Chocolate Brainstrain CPR Carolina Reaper Chocolate Moruga Bhut Jolokia Yellow Bhut Jolokia Peach Bhut Jolokia Caramel Bih Jolokia #1 Assam 7 Pod Brown 7 Pod...
Dutch bucket greenhouse project
Firstly I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tom and I live in the Netherlands. Last year I have grown several vegetables hydroponically.       This year I decided to grow some peppers in a dutch bucket setup. Not in an indoor grow room with sophisticated led lights, but just in a simple greenhouse.       The pictures below show how the system is built-up. I decided to use Perlite as medium, since it has remarkable drainage properties.         The bato buckets filled with perlite.       The pepper seedlings planted in the perlite.       A few weeks later. I wrapped them with aluminium foil to keep the nutrient solution cool.
Illsstep 2017 Indoor Winter Grow
For my first time growing hot peppers, I decided to grow some jalapeños in the indoor grow area I set up a little less than a year ago. I have a few months free before I will need it again to grow on rooted cuttings (flowering shrubs mostly) prior to planting them outside, and peppers sounded like a good way to fill that downtime.   The grow area:     At the bottom right is a humidifier, to attempt to keep the humidity up while the heat is running this winter. I decided to humidify the whole room the grow area is in, to try to maintain both decent humidity in the enclosure and good air exchange with the surrounding room.     Missing is the small oscillating tower fan that usually sits in the front left corner; it is below at the...
With any luck I can make this a fairly interesting grow log for the beginners like me. If you want to follow a professional grower to glean pro-style tips, keep moving. If you want to watch a guy stumble along the road of gardening, you are in the right place! I am in south Florida so I don't have a frost to worry about. it does get cold(ish) around February and theoretically I should wait till then to go outside but like I said, I am not a pro.   The plan is to grow in pots on a drip irrigation system that I plan to build.   I will try to track my seeds and where they came from:   Currently Growing Jalapeno - Burpee Serano - Burpee [Not gonna grow] Brazilian Ghost  - Forum  [Probably Not gonna grow] Jamaican Scotch Bonnet - Forum...
After growing more stuff than I could even give away last year I've cut my list down from 24 peppers to 17 to leave a bit of room for some herbs.   Peppers:  Chupetinho (2 + 1 overwinter) Biquinho Yellow (2) MOA Scotch Bonnet (2) Fatalii (2) Aji Dulce #1 (2) Tabasco (2) Texas Chiltepin (4 overwintered)   Herbs:  Italian oregano Kent beauty oregano Sweet basil x2 Pesto perpetuo basil Variegated lemon thyme Garlic chives Catnip Sage hybrid #4
Gunaka's 2017 GrowLogs
Hi all I am still new to growing peppers (this is my 1st ever season) and this forum. I come from Croatia (East Europe) and atm here is really cold winter (few weeks ago we had lot of snow). Peppers will be in my house until April-May and then I will take them out when weather gets warmer. From morning till dusk peppers are near window and they are absorbing natural light and during night they are under 2x18W T8 6500k fluo light. Atm I have 28 plants (5 varieties): Pimiento de Padron Jalapeno Jamaican Hot Chocolate Bhut Jolokia Moruga Scorpion Yellow   Here are few pictures of my light setup and plants: Tell me what do you think. Feel free to give any tips if I am doing something wrong.   Date: 17. Feb. 2017   My improvized grow box...

Second glog 2017
Seed list: -Carolina reaper -Trinidad scorpion peach -Bhut Jolokia chocolate -Jalapenos --------------------------------- My second glog ever, started a little late this year but what can you do.. Started on April 12 by germinating seeds, and today April, 21 I put 11 Trinidad scorpion peach seeds into peat pellets. Still waiting for more seeds to germinate and will update weekly on progress made. Cheers.
Hi all, this is the start of a new season as most of you are at the peak of yours. I grow for my own enjoyment . I enjoy germinating ,growing , eating , drying and saucing peppers. Some peppers and sauces might end up as presents , but I don't sell peppers, sauces or seeds.   I have built my own grow box with T5 CFL lights and aluminium foil for reflexion. Germination was with the modified paper towel method in 100ml pill vials at 30 degrees C. First seeds were in the vials on paper on July 11.   Lists and pics to follow.
Hi all, As a newcomer to chilli growing I have been bitten by the hot chilli bug badly this year. I started some plants back in late 2016 after getting seeds abroad. The whole venture is getting a bit out of hand but I've started two raised beds and just starting on a third bed among many pots too. I'll put pictures up when I can but here is my current list: S = seedling, V = vegetative, F = flowering/fruiting 1. Mucho Nacho jalapeno (F) 2. Aji amarillo (V) 3. Chocolate Douglah (F) 4. Firecracker jalapeno (F) 5. Cayenne Caysan (F) 6. Habanero (F) 7. Manzano (V) 8. Bhut jolokia (V) 9. Chocolate Brain Strain x Reaper (V) 10. Carolina Reaper (V) 11. Tabasco (F) 12. Hell's chilli grow
Hey guys, recently i started up a DWC set up for the Carolina reaper, atm i have 2 running in the DWC and 1 in soil, and i also have a ghost pepper growing in the back and seeing how she goes :) Im pretty new to the hydro systems so any help would be great, so far its been going well i think this is the 3rd week running, im using a chilli nutrient and setting the ph levels correctly and thats about it!               Where it started haha..   week 2   week 3   nutrient that im using at the moment
In the ever awesome excitement of having an almost 25ftx10ft area to build raised beds and my own home now. I figured it's time to grow again (like plants and the size of my garden). Due to the move I have been on hiatus and had made a final harvest of peppers from last season. I have had more remaining peppers than I can feasibly enjoy, all preserved in one form or another. So, maybe 20+ peppers plants is too much for 1 young couple? ... ... ... I will be germing 100 288 plants this year with the goal to keep all healthy plants (last years germ was around 97% - so this might be a lot).   I will be expanding my horizons though, here is my grow list.   2017 Plants Hydro Plants   1 Juliet - Sauce Tomato   2 Black Cherry - Cherry Tomato  ...

Stefan_W's 2013 Pods A-Ripenin'! Glog
I am going to start the new glog for my upcoming growing season on a bit of a personal note. One year ago tomorrow (January 3rd) is the one year anniversary of the day that my daughter was diagnosed with a tumour that is lodged in the middle of her brain. The past year has involved treatments and hospital stays, and there were at least three different points when we were pretty sure she was not going to make it. But she is a fighter, and nothing could keep her down for long. Sofia has personally planted every pepper and tomato seed that I have started in the past three growing seasons. She beat the odds last year to help me, and once again she is defying what medicine has to say to help me out this year. We started a jalapeno plant...
