    Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus

This brand and flavor of hummus has been a household fave for many years now. It's NOT because it is the best hummus out there, but given the overall blandness of the American mass-market palate, it is some of the spicier stuff that you can get in the average grocery store. I have often...

review What do you want to see reviewed?

Jay, I just picked up a bunch of sauces myself and may review some of them for the Hot Zone Online. I say may because I am perpetually months behind in my reviewing. That said, you may want to get some sauces from: Benito's Hot Sauce (www.benitoshotsauce.com) and Big Daddy's Hot Sauce...

    The Chilli Factory's Scorpion Strike

I would absolutely LOVE getting some sauces from the Chilli Factory, but even my lustful desire for new and spicier hot sauce has me choking at the sheer dollar figure of the shipping charges from Australia. GACK!

hot-sauce Went out to purchase Defcon sauce, came back with Daves Ghost Pepper.....

You're absolutely right. Being hateful or nasty in your reviews doesn't make you better than anyone else. It does, however, make you petty, juvenile, uncouth, and a whole bunch of other adjectives that I could choose to describe that are less-than-positive. Immature might be the nicest...

hot-sauce Went out to purchase Defcon sauce, came back with Daves Ghost Pepper.....

Wow, I love a good nerd fight about chile peppers and extract. Been a while since I posted in this forum, so here I can jump in with both feet. Z, I don't know what your issue with Dave's products are. I really don't. Having met the man in person, and discussed his products, he definitely...

We agree with Buddah. A way to donate without necessarily being in on the bidding would be great.

    PASSOW’S THP PARTY – JUNE 20, 2009 – CLEVELAND, OHIO

No can make it, amigo. Lack of available child care options this weekend, so we're pretty much stuck at home for much of the weekend. - Joe

    hot-sauce My Sauces

Dude, how can you realistically rate extract sauces for taste? The whole point about extract sauces is that they're all about heat and pretty much devoid of anything that resembles taste like you could say about other sauces. - Joe

hot-sauce Just got two sauces: Tears of Joy's August in Austin & CaJohn's Fatlii Fire

If you like the Fatalli Fire, you really need to try his sauce called Scorch. I'm not as much of a fan of the fatalii pepper in some sauces, but I adore it as part of the Scorch sauce. Add in some red savinas and orange habs, and it makes for a pretty darn good sauce that has a bit of attitude...

    Scorpion Bay Chocopotle

Rob, the company's owner, sorta dropped out of sight (or offline, at least) shortly before his company lost any visibility on the Internet. It's a shame, really, because we really liked all his sauces quite a bit and they had received some national notice. This is indeed a damn good sauce...

    Gone Nutz On Nutterz

I'd vote for horseradish as well. Wasabi is a good choice, assuming you can make it hot enough like real Wasabi and not some of the poseur products out there that think they're hot. - Joe

    Defcon haters? WTF?

Tabasco sauce is glorified vinegar with some pepper solids added in, and not all that spicy...even the habanero. The DEFCON products that are well known are wing sauces, not hot sauces, and have a different application. At least, I've not used them as hot sauces. They are definitely hotter...

    Gone Nutz On Nutterz

I have to mention that I was recently introduced to this product myself. While in sunny Cleveland for a visit, I bought a bag of the Nuclear Nutterz from the inestimable IGG himself. I'd sit down to write a review, but I think I gobbled them up too quickly! Fine, fine stuff. DickT, you have...

    hot-sauce Choice Of Sauces

Hey HnB, For a UK maker you may wish to consider, try looking up Nick Woods at Fire Foods UK (www.firefoods.co.uk). I've tried some of his sauces, and they're good. For some unique North American hot sauces that you won't likely have seen, look into: Torchbearer Sauces (from Pennsylvania) -...

Any members from Columbus (OH) area

Mike, Linda and Joe here... I know that the weekends of those shows are ones that I (Joe) have already committed to work, so I wouldn't be available to go. If I'm not around to watch our little ones, then I'm not sure if Linda could swing by and see what's going on there. If you still need...

    Longest standing THP member?

I know we've been members since 2005. Of the members who still post, I think that ranks us 6th according to the chronological list. Go figure. - Joe

hot-sauce Are Bustelo's Hot Pepper sauces still available anywhere?

As an ongoing hot sauce making company, Bustelo's appears to be gone. At least, they have no website or phone listing that Google can detect. If you still have the bottle, it would be interesting to see if there is an address, phone number, or other such contact info on the bottle. That said...

    Nothing like a little stroke...

Well, might as well have a doctor chime in... DD, you may have indeed burst a small aneurysm somewhere in your cranial macaroni, esp. given the symptoms that you had that seemed like it was a stroke. If they found more of those aneurysms (usually called "berry" aneurysms), those are ones to...

    'Pain' and 'Pain2'

Heya Bent, Just wanted to let you know that we hadn't forgotten about you since you sent us your bottles of the 'Pain' sauces. We finally got around to writing a review of it on our blog, so you can check it out there. GREAT, GREAT STUFF, mate! - Joe

    food-bev Beer Reviews

Viva Belgian beer!! Let me put in a plug for one of my faves, and it's not a chile beer. Linda and I lived in Belgium for just under a year's worth of time from 1999-2000, and we had a chance to try several dozen of their 760+ varieties that are made in Belgium alone. This one has ranked at...
