First time growing hydroponically. Came home to my basil plant on its side. Idk if maybe the stem is just weak from no fan and got too top heavy. (The basil has exploded in growth lately) or if this is root rot.

I don't know the first thing about growing hydroponically. I got an IDOO system today. I usually grow in containers, but idk how much different this is. id assume overwatering is an issue?

well i mainly use miracle grow's cactus mix, but it can get a lil expensive... anybody know of any cheaper potting soils that i could use as a filler, and mix with the cactus mix, that i can trust not to have any infestations?

i've been considering growing some white habs; but i'm curious as to what they taste like. the thing is, i've grown both orange and red habaneros in the past...and i've found that i like the orange habs, but for some reason i don't really like the red ones. so i was wondering, how do white habs...

got an old 75W/120V grow light at a yard sale for $1.50... it still works and everything just wondering, how good/better would this be for growing peppers than the shop lights i use? also, how much do these usually cost new? says "PLANT GRO N SHOW" on the bulb

well i'm a lil low on space, and i want to keep my plants from crossing, so i was thinking i'd just keep the fatalii in my window sill this summer would it be alright in terms of polination on it's own? or would i need to take a water color paint brush and polinate it myself?

would putting bags of soil, that may or may not be contaminated with something like grub worms, or spider mites, ect. into a freezer for a length of time, kill off the infestation(s)? and would there be any down sides?

theres some tiny clear worms with a black dot on their head infesting the soil of my plants right now... i'm pretty sure they're maggots, and they've eatin all the seeds in the soil that hadn't sprouted yet, and they've eatin the roots of some of my sprouts is there any way to get rid of these...

there are some gnats that have started infesting the soil i'm trying to start my seeds in. are they a problem? and how would i go about getting rid of these annoying things?

well i've finished my setup for 2010 for the most part:hell: ...still need a fan though btw, i'm not sure if i harvested my seeds properly i spread them out inside of a folded paper towel for a few days, then put them into a pill bottle and added a few rice...they should be fine right?
