2010 smackdown

I would be in for this, but I dont have any scorpion seeds :( LOL i got room to plant them though and its only Jan, so I have plenty of time before spring/summer gets here...

AJ, PM sent to you...

I'm in too. Will be starting seeds this weekend. Guess I will start a few extra scorpions to make sure I get a good one. I have several strains and colors of scorpions, so will we have a category for the different colors, or just scorpions in general. Maybe best yellow pod and best red. Just a thought.

This will be fun!:onfire:

Yeah I like the red and yellow idea mainly since I don't have red and a lot of us have yellow thanks to Chris.

I just so happen to have put 36 Scorpions from Hippy into the Germ Tray today. I think his are BT.

So I guess I'm in too. What timing.

Edit - And speaking of Rules, with my black thumb and hot desert climate, I consider "winning" to be keeping tropical plants alive and actually getting them to fruit -- with no artificial lights or nutes

Well, I just joined, and I'm certainly in the 'rookie' status - kind of like the 4th stringer coming off the bench, like the old grey mare expecting to win the Kentucky Derby ..... but I expect to learn here, so count me in. (At least I am good at the photography part :) ) I'll have to check to see if I have the seeds
The 'Scorpion King' -2002 Movie- A desert warrior rises up against the evil.

Lets start another thread for this event. Call it the Scorpion King event and within the thread, we should outline the rules or categories:-

- earliest pod
- biggest/fattest pod
- prettiest tail
- etc

And a panel of judge will deliberate at the end of the season for every category, or we could also use a voting system (which i *think* is handled by this forum) voted by members of the forum to make it more transparent.

Just spoutin' my ideas around.

Im just a newbie grower but its joining events/competition like this that will ultimately raise my experience in this arena ALOT.

OK...let me transpire some knowledge and maturity here and I will see what kind of rules I can come up with...I wish it didn't have to be any rules and everyone just plain grow the pods...the way I see it, everyones a winner whether they get first ripe pod, biggest, prettiest, weirdest...

matter of fact, why can't we have this competition be non-competitive and just use it as an information gathering device? we can call it the NON-SMACKDOWN Scorpion Grow 2010

can we just do that? I mean after all, there is no prize to be won

I like that - we probably would be more willing to share techniques/experience/results for a non-smackdown Scorpion Grow. (And, I would be more apt to ask rookie questions fromt he group :)

Ahh...it is so nice when all of the tension leaves the room, great idea AJ!!! Since we are just having a comparison, could we make it 2 categories? I really like the idea of seeing some weird pods. It seems like the pod porn that we all share on here is of the prettiest pods. I think it would also be cool if we shared our weirdest pods too.

yes let's do that! i like annual growing events but it have to be fun in 1st place. anyway lets start new thread for this.

Just a reminder, that there is also a ROCOTO/MANZANO smackdown....errrr competition on Chileman.org as well. I still have a few seeds available for a SASBE/SASE for anyone that wants/needs any....only5 per person as my supply is getting pretty low.

I'm giving a few yellow/orange manzano seeds(ty millworkman for them) a bit of a soaking atm.
Not quite sure I want to get in on any competitions, though.
