Cappy's Capsicum 2011

Just a short video of the pepper garden this crisp cool October morning. The pods have been ripening as fast as I can pick'em with several harvests a week right now. Lots of pods still to be harvested just keeping fingers crossed for a late freeze this year. Big game later today Clemson against VT. :woohoo: Go Tigers!

Nice video, some close ups and discriptions would be pretty cool someday since you have the "awesome plants and pods",

It doesn't seem like any of your plants are staked, are they self supporting since they're grouped together?

Nice work, looks like you still have some good harvests left...

Just watched the video, Cappy. Impressive doesn't do your garden justice! Gotta love that South Carolina climate! Seems perfect for peppers to me!

Hi Cappy

Just want to say it is an inspiration to those of us who grow peppers in container. From the height and size of the plant I initially though those are planted on ground. I notice your pots are not very big, less than 10 gallon I assume. Great job . If I am from US I will definitely buy a collection of your fresh peppers. :-)

Thanks a ton S_S cannot compete with your super harvests but I work with what I got in my backyard. It has been chilly the last couple nights and the plants know their life cycle is complete so lots of ripening pods. A few close-ups this week first a plate of Brain Strain and Douglah 7 Pods, next is a few ButchT and Chocolate Scorpions, Yellow 7 Pods then Primo 7 Pods, and last a platter of Bhut Jolokia. Maybe one more harvest and I'll have enough pods to fill my crock and start fermenting some peppers. If this October is anything like the last couple years should have several more havests to keep filling the coffers with pods. :woohoo:

That video is out of this world. If your season was any longer you'd need a ladder to do some harvesting
Nice pizza boxes btw :D Thanks for all the pictures n' updates this year Cappy. Been a lot of fun keeping up on your GL.

Another harvest this week finally got outside to do some pickin' after all this rain. Temps still look very favorable for another harvest or two we'll see. Today's pods will be available in the marketplace for a couple hours only this afternoon. :onfire:

What a spread! Truly impressive. I've got a lot of learning to do!

What is the one in the bottom left of the bottom picture?

Thank you Emu everything to be learned can be found right here on THP. The pepper you asking about is a Mustard Habanero, great color and good heat and different hab flavor. Jump on over to the marketplace and try some out. :D

LOL- I wasn't kidding when I said I've got a lot to learn! I bought some of those pods fresh from you earlier in the season. I guess I had it in my head that they were closer to a bright yellow color. I made some sauce from them and kept the seeds though so I'll let you know how it goes next season!!

Emu great forgot you had already gotten those peppers especially since you were asking what they are. Big plants for habanero type so be sure to give them plenty of room to grow. Thank you patrick, Wally and nmorris going to be some awesome sauces made very soon. I really wanted some help pickin' all those pods this morning seems to never end. :mouthonfire:

A group pic of some of the baddest pods I grow before being sliced open to offer another generation. Starting up top going clockwise Chocolate Bhut Jolokia and red Bhut Jolokia, Chocolate Scorpion and a couple ButchT Scorpion, Primo 7 Pot and above that pair of T. Douglah, Yellow 7 Pod and Brain Strain 7 Pod. :hell:
