Potawie's summer of 09 porn

Here's a few more pics from yesterday:

This is an f2 of what I formerly called "Potawie's yellow chinense f1"
I think I will now refer to it as "Potawie's red arrowhead chinense f2"

Here's my overwintered bigbang naga tree

And here's my giant (Not)white 'habanero'

This is my small Golden greek pepperoncini. I really like these better when ripe red, although pickled green turned out good too

Thats an interesting looking pod, do you also have a pic of the f1 to compare.

Ciao Derek-

It looks to me like you're growing Reisetomate, a fused mega-tomato. You can pull those apart and each one is a cherry. Munchkin grew it last year and won Ugliest Tomato at the Buffalo Tomato Tasting and got a big bag of Tomato Tone fertilizer for his efforts.

I'm really seeing that over-wintering peppers in a hot house is the way to go to get early harvests from the Chinenses up here in Tundra Land. Duane's plants are loaded with buds and flowers, but not much is ripe yet.

Here's some pics of yesterday's harvest which includes a few reisetomates

Sorry, a little blurry. The Lamuyos were picked green only because a branch broke off:(

Some of these reisetomates were much bigger but its a bit difficult to pick them fully intact, they break apart fairly easy.

They break apart fairly easy eh? That explains how to eat the darn things then. Thanks POTAWIE.

Looks like things continue to do well in POTAWIE Land.:)

What a beautiful harvest!

I haven't tried one yet but my thoughts are:
Novelty tomato= not the tastiest tomato
But even the more tasteless tomatos aren't really that bad.

Ciao Derek-

You know what, we sure could use a pictorial primer on how you do your Fall pruning. I think you've got the over-wintering thing down and that would sure help those of us in Tundra-land to get some decent harvests of tropical peppers we Canucks really have no business trying to grow. I can report that Duane has fruit-set on his Naga and Scorpion now. The only hold-out is the 7-Pot. Lots of flowers though.

Pray for heat and clear skies, we really could use some, eh?

Now they're saying we're going to have a hot August and September
I've got some threads somewhere showing how I prune and over-winter, but honestly I've only got a few of my overwintered plants this year that are doing better than my first year seed plants and cuttings.
