I never seen a spider like that before either
The bigbang tree was getting really rootbound so I had to find it a bigger home.
Here's a pic of the 2nd year mother/donor Bigbang plant(right) and the cloned plant from cutting taken in the winter(left)
The clone looks like it has larger leaves than mama. Does it have larger pods too? I notice my 2nd year plants tend to get smaller - probably due to how far they've noded away from the main stem (?)
My "arrowhead" type hybrid with hundreds of pods and flowers
Piment D'espelette ripening. This plant is just loaded with good sized peppers and they seem to be ripening quite quickly once they start turning orange/red
I grew Tiny Tim last year and it produced like crazy even though I abused it severely. I got the plant as a gift a couple of days before I moved so it ended up in a dark room for a couple of weeks. Then I watered it and forgot it outside over night and sure enough we got a centimeter of snow that night. In june. If I decide to grow tomatoes again that one is on top of the list.
I grew the Tiny Tim last year and it produced heavily and early but I found the flavor lacking and prefer the Tommy Toe, but it takes longer (70 days) to produce ripe fruit and probably wouldn't be a choice for the short season grower.
Your right about the tinyTims Surferdude, they aren't bad tasting but not great. I grow many types of cherry tomato but the tinyTims have been producing for me since late winter with only minimal light, although they are getting good light now and growing fast.
I grew Tommy Toe one year and loved them, I just got into a lot of other great types and forgot about them but I'm sure I'll grow them again.
The sungolds are my personal favorite. I can't say I really eat a lot of cherry toms but sungolds are just like candy. This year I'm trying a dehybridized sungold type supplied by Habman(Where are you Habman?)
The black cherries I grew in previous years were not popular around the Potawie homestead, but was a favorite of my good friend/neighbor. I found it mushy and watery but this year I got a new seed source to try(previous source was tomatogrowers) and I'm also growing some larger Black from tula toms that seem to be doing fairly well. I'm interested to see, maybe I just don't like any black toms, or maybe I just had a bad experience. I'm also growing snow white and reisentraube for the first time. I'm hoping to have a nice rainbow of cherry toms:white, orange, red, purple/black. I forgot to start any yellow
Here's one of my large deck tomato plants. Its an Opalka which is one of my favorites. I got tired of supporting the container tomatos so they're now hanging over the deck railing and loving it.
Black From Tula is one I've purchased for next season as well as Black Krim. It will be my first season for blacks and I'm lookin forward to tasting what all of the raving is about.
Yep, just about all of my porch maters touched the roof and then doubled over from the weight. I have one Opalka plant and I've harvested one ripe one from it far but it's not doing as well as yours. Gotta quit planting indeterminates in #5 pots and use larger containers.
Mine just got transplanted today from tiny containers. Its amazing how little of a container toms need if they can be watered enough. Its just a matter of supporting and watering them
I'll try to get some pics of big plants in little pots before I repot the rest.
