What's your Hobby (Chillis excluded)

It makes sense to me. To me, chiles are a kinda Zen thing..they are mentioned in many books, including the Kama Sutra. (you don't want to know)

It's an exploration of self, of control, and allowing that which is more than you to Be, and of finding the reaches of the shell we call our body.

I've not explored the martial arts very much in this time....lotta personal and verrry old reasons that keep people safe. My ancient history..is just that. I do admire Jeet Kune Do...for it's openess and flexibility. I've practiced several "eastern" ..things through time.. but I'm just me. I claim nothing.

Except, never hand a Celt a blade...and expect to live long. Steel and Peat sing equally in my blood. ;)

I have great respect for those who do practice the Arts though.

Well Met, Neil.

cheers,

QS

Whoa!! Thats a nice ride! Mine's not that nice. I've got an older 7-speed Cannondale F1000(with a flask cage on it), but you really can't argue with a $100 price tag either.

Salt water reef fishtanks (coral and all that) had a 320g tank at one time.. about 6 feet long and 2.5 feet deep, down to a tiny 50g now.

Computers, I run a website hosting company and the vast majority of my time is spent online providing support for my clients.

I love cars but honestly don't know much about them. Do like to drive them though. I had a subaru STi for a couple years but I drove a yaris to work n back. When I found out our daughter was coming I decided to sell the STi... a move I now really, honestly regret. The wife says I can buy a new one but I dunno...

I love my home theater setup. Currently trying to figure out the best method to record and store HD broadcasts - probably a mythtv box with something like the hauppage hd-pvr...

I enjoy my garden, my dog. But I really don't have much free time. I do try and workout 3x a week, lift heavy ass weights. But I have bursitis in my knee right now from... gardening. You'd think 400lb squats woulda done it but no... I was picking weeds in my garden and blew my knee up.

I also really enjoy traveling but I think I will be doing much less of that as my baby girl is due to arrive any day now. I think it would be hard to bundle a newborn on a plane... hmmm.

Thanks Sickmont, $100 is a good price, times it by twelve and you have the price of mine. I had a Giant ATX 840 with a nice set of Rox Shox that i paid $350 for at a police auction but had to buy a new one when someone figured they needed it more than me (rotten bastards), the one before that was a Mongoose Tyax Comp, someone also relieved me of that ride too. This one lives inside.

Im thinking about getting an older bike and packing the frame with high explosives, use it as bait, as soon as the theives sit on the seat-KABOOM!!!

Congrats Lostmind. Hope it all goes smoothly for the better half mate....

Our thought are with you both....

I suppose you could say my other hobby besides gardening is playing music...but since we play over 75 gigs a year, I don't know whether that can be classified as a hobby or not....all I know is I really enjoy playing with the guys in the band...there are basically 5 of us that play with our "acoustic" gigs...bass, rhythm guitar (acoustic), lead guitar (acoustic), harmonica, and mandolin...when we play with the full band, we change the acoustics guitars to electric (strats/teles/les pauls) and add drums....we all made a pact when we first started playing together about 6 years ago and that was "when it stops being fun and starts being a job we won't do it any more"...

It's a hobby, AJ - don't worry. I used to play in several bands and I never considered it anything else than that even when we got to play all over Europe and even abroad. It's what you make it!

Did your band ever release anything btw??

Or you could get a boatload of friends, hide them amongst the shubbery and use the bike as bait. Then when the bum(or bums) come to relieve you of it you and all your friends initiate a very 'modest' form of self defense. Trust me it works great.

I can't imagine many of my friends being very "modest" when confronted by a clueless, thieving, good for nothing, air robbing, bike grabbing, scum of the earth dirtbag.

I had a Specialized Hardrock pinched from the local club a few years ago but managed to retrieve it from the thieves house, after him denying it for about five minutes, then oh whats this beside your house you prick, what do you want me to do, call the cops or just take it out on your hide?!

I ended up making him owe me a favour in lou of a good smack down, come to think of it i should collect, my yard needs weeding real bad and needs mowing too- i'm going to see him soon:) I will make him do it for a month, if he doesn't like that then it's smack down city here we come!!

id love to hear some of ya music AJ, acoustic with the Harp and Mandolin awwwwwwwww the full on band be great, but ya's havin fun acoustically would be sensational, got any out to hear ?

i love to travel,
i love to gamble,
i love to grow things of all kinds,
i love to cook,
i love photography,

i love any ocean activities,
i love birds,
i love to fish,

i love to take long trips in the bush,

the list goes on and on....

I like to do silly things on motorbikes

I was more of a roadracer on the track, but I respect a man that can do a proper wheelie. Not just a popup hoping for the best obviously. Looks good man. I can tell you're into the stunting for sure as well, by the top of the gastank, the wheelie skidplate on the back, and the oversized rear sprocket.
