Yellowfin2na Hydroponic Grow 2015 *PIC INTENSE*
So I wanted to share my first hydroponic pepper grow so far. Started December 1st and now we are two months in. I have a home made indoor system that is half NFT half DWC. I also have a plant that I grew in a coffey can under T5 lighting.   I was so unorganized in the beginning and it was a rough start. But I think Im getting that hang of it. I am growing both peppers and tomatoes in the same system which became a challenge. Even worse I have no idea what plants are what because during seedling stages my tray was knocked over mixing everything up. The pepper plants are either Carolina Reaper, Chocolate Scotch Bonnet, or White Habanero. The tomatoes could be anything. I have 10 different exotic kinds and not a clue to what is what.      ...
Some kind of update is needed here.... I started this adventure back in 2012 growing white habs and Butch t's in containers on an 8th floor balcony. Mostly beginner's luck on that season. 2013 didnt work out as good, I moved and ended up with quite a few 4'x4' beds, alot of mystery mixes and dealing with horn worms and gophers.... 2014 was another move and I was reduced to a single 8'x5' raised bed. Transplants and some attempted over winters from 2013, nothing survived, but I had tomatoes growing like weeds from the compost pile. 2014 was cut short by a midyear move. I started a super chili in a solo cup and managed to get a few from it before the so cal "cold" moved in and I moved yet again. 2015, just relocated to North...

Hello from Baltimore Maryland! My name is Nick, and I've been an avid outdoor gardener for the better part of a decade. I've been more interested/concerned with growing my own food (especially peppers) year round lately so I decided to jump right in. I did some basic research to get a base of knowledge, but didn't dig too deep into rigs, since I like to do my own thing.I'd love to hear comments/ideas/suggestions/criticism (though I can't swear I'll take your good advice.) Thanks for taking a look! Stay tuned for some pictures if I can figure out how.
Jeff's Glog- 2015 edition.--In the dirt
Here we go again.             Starting a little later this year. Right now, just some pubes. Supers in a week or two and the rest of the crew in Feb sometime.               Since the glog is pretty boring at this point, we'll get it off to a good start with some good food. Blackened chicken and dirty rice with jalapeno poppers.
Newril's swedish indoor grow (update: The world outside)
I've been thinking about starting a glog for sometime, but for some reason I haven't started yet.. Atleast until now:)   This is my second season, but i'm going to start with a recap of my first season. It started in late march 2014 in a little 24slot grow box and 4 months later I had built a 185cm wide, 185cm high, 79cm depth grow box and 450w och MH and 300w of T8s.   Season 2014 (my first)   bhut jolokia carolina reaper Thai sun chili       After i bought my first lights 150w mh 150 w t8. Didn't have any spare space in my little apartment so they got the dining area (since we have another table)       First version of my indoor ikea growbox             I didn't even get one single bhut jolokia or reaper :( But i did get plenty of...
Shane's Tiny Glog 2015
Well...wasn't going to post one this season. Not much going on. I am set to leave for 6 months in August so I'm not growing very much this year. Mainly a couple varieties I am trying to stabilize...but I got some volunteers and wilds that overwintered in the ground. I am in the middle of a crazy pre-deployment training schedule, so updates will be sporadic. I really just want to document the crosses on here for future reference. So here are a couple pics. Primo X...   Romy Mystery X Goat's Weed along the back with Jals in front.    A couple of the Mystery X GW's in front of a coffee table for reference. They are already about 2.5 feet tall. I am hoping they'll top 11' this season.   These are large orange thai for the Growdown this...
KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"
Prologue   "Our hero, battered from the trials and frustrations of the 2014 season had originally determine that there would not be a sequel to his story.  2014 was a terrible year, between the torrential and unending rains of March-May, the unrelenting whiteflies, the brown spot, and the zombie aphids that continually arose from the dead to plague again and again...   Pair this with a busy race schedule for the Fall and extended family drama: our hero decided to sit 2015 out.   Alas, a decision was made to "plant some of my overwinters and a few tomatoes" and like a phoenix, the pepper-growing bug struck again.   Sit back friends and revel in the continuation of our story..."  ...
So I'm lucky enough to live in Hawaii where we can grow year round. First Glog - 2015
Hello world:   My name is Nick.  I am from Indiana, about half way between Ft. Wayne and South Bend.   My screen name stems from my background in automotive hobbies.  I am married with cats and am lucky enough to have a wife that loves hot peppers.  I am a mechanical engineer by degree and own a photography business on the side.   I spent last year stalking this forum and decided to post my grow this year.   Last year we grew:   Ancho Long slim red cayenne Hungarian wax Caribbean red hot Ghosts Reapers   Our favorites were the red hots and the reapers.  They seemed to have the most fruity pepper flavor to compliment the heat.      On 02.22.15 we planted a Burpee 72 count starter tray we found on sale.  Here is the layout with the cover...

Datil planted end of the summer.
This year is my first year that I am going all in. I've helped with the family garden in the past but I would say I am pretty new to peppers for the most part. I've done a lot of research in the past few months regarding next year's approach. Here's what I have came up with so far: I am planning on growing roughly 120 pepper plants of differing breeds and heat levels. Roughly 50% of the plants with be Jalapeno or lower for the rest of the family and friends. I am planning on doing a the bulk of the plants in the garden. As an experiment I am toying with 1 plant in DWC (5 gallon bucket), 1 plant in "fogponics" (5 gallon bucket) and 6 plants in a DIY low pressure aeroponics system (27 gallon tote). I may scrap the "fogponics" idea mainly...

pwnguin's first grow [indoor/outdoor]
I began this grow a little bit late in the season. It's my first grow, and I decided to jump headfirst with the goals of learning through experimentation and studying other people's successes and mistakes. I began this project in the beginning of May, when I purchased Giant Bhut Seeds and Trinidad Scorpion Seeds from pepperjoe.com. I found out that some people have had mixed results with this vendor, after the fact of course. Whether these strains will turn out to be what I purchased is to be determined. Fingers crossed.   As a note, I didn't start this journey out intending on doing a GLOG. My documentation begins to get more thorough as the GLOG progresses, so please bear with me.    May  [link to imgur album]     [DATE: 5/24/15]...
Blorvak 2015! - First Harvest!
Hey everyone!   Starting my seeds later this year, as a result of last year's experiments. But it's a very dreary day in the NW. Which is the perfect time to start this year's glog!   Only garlic and collards in the garden now. And rain. Lots of rain:     Last year I grew too much heat. I'll admit it! I want to can a bunch of peppers this year, so I'm going strong with Annuums.   The List 2015!!   C. Chinense Yellow 7 Pot *White Bullet Habanero (saved seed) - 3/6 *Yellow Fatalii (PepperLover) - 4/6 *MOA Scotch Bonnet (PepperLover) - 3/6 *Charapita (Cone 9) - 5/6 *Better Bhut (Spicegeist) - 3/3 *Guwahati Bhut (Spicegeist) - 5/6   C. Beerbreath 2015---Up and Running
Time for another season. Big hopes for a better season this year. Last year was a near complete bust for me, started out battling ferocious winds, very poor extremely hard clay soil, too much rain, and a number of other issues. I was able to learn from it, had some plants up near the house I babysat through the season, and I have since made some massive improvements to the soil and hope to get a fence up to act as a windbreak before the plant out in May. This is my second year with a giant garden (50x50) and have no intentions of scaling down just yet. In the past I have been limited to a small 15x5 garden because of where I lived. We moved to our new (and hopefully permanent) home in Nov of 2013.    In the past I have always started my...
Finding Mnemo
Welcome to my grow log.   A bit of a backstory – I’m from British Columbia, Canada. I’ve always had a penchant for spicy food but there isn’t a lot available locally in terms of fresh pods outside of your standard jalapeno, and habanero peppers. So I decided, eh, I’ll try my hand at growing my own. I came here, I read, and read, I watched videos on YouTube, and read some more – started building a list of what I needed (or “wanted” if you ask my girlfriend) to purchase to make it happen. Now three months later, here I am.   I am currently growing the following peppers at home: Jalapeno Purple Jalapeno Habanero Jamaican Hot Red Habanero Pepperoncini Fatalii (coming along VERY slowly) Trinidad Perfume Pepper (coming along VERY slowly) Kung...
Sluggy glog 2015
Documenting the new season !  Early start because the weather is crummy here in the Netherlands. Aji Panca, a (very) mild, Peruvian oddball strain that actually tastes like blueberry. Frickin BLUEBERRY ! How kick ass is that ?  The first leaves ("cotyledons"  in botanical nerd speak) are unusually big. Never seen seen seedlings with such huge cotyledons.  Assorted seedlings, with White Bullets and Choco Morugas in the back. These are under 6 small neon tubes that I really should be replacing soon.  It's working, but not all that well.    Bonchi fun ! Just a month before the picture of this CAP219 was taken, this was just a little stem without any green on it whatsoever. As I predicted, this strain appears to be very suitable for...
afr0n0mes first ever grow :D
Well i started not knowing wtf i was doing. I have never GROWN ANYTHING from seed or grown anything in general so take it ez on me. maxcap 2015! Supers full of pods...
I wish I'd started this sooner, but I've been slammed with research/writing work until now. That's subsiding as the semester winds down and I move closer to being Dr. MaxCap. Things were so hectic over the winter that I almost didn't plant anything at all. Boy am I glad I got some stuff started.   I grow in Atlanta, in two raised 4x12' beds in a community garden. Last year was my first serious grow, and I went broad, starting at least one representative from every major branch of the superhot pepper family. Being that I wasn't sure I'd be in town to finish the season, I dialed it back to my absolute favorites. Powders, sauces, and salsas all turned out great, thanks to help from THP's community. I tried to share a lot of it back around...

dan5505's 2015 Grow Log **Lots of Pictures**
Last year was my first time growing peppers.  I grew several Jalapeno and Habanero plants both indoors and out in the garden.  It was a lot of fun, so this year I am going to try some other varieties.  Here is my plan for this year.   Overwintered Plants: 4 Jalapeno Early 7 Orange & Red Habaneros   Started January-February 2015: 2 Banana or Corno di Toro (mixed seeds I found from 2011) 3 Bell  2 Cayenne  2 Serrano  1 Cherry Tomato   Starting soon just ordered seeds: 1 Aji Habanero 1 Trinidad Perfume 1 Bishop's Hat 1 Brazillian Starfish 1 Bhut Jolokia   I only have enough windowspace indoors for one of each variety.  The rest will go out in the garden when it gets warm or will be given away.   This is my high tech seed starting /...
rghm1u20 growing season - 2015 - Phoenix
I'm back on bussines again! Started my first load of seeds on Jan.,29,2015. Why Phoenix? Because (probably) no one of my 2014 peppers will be in my 2015 list (old story, lack of space....), and my 2015 is a new, reborn list.   No pictures so far (another old story, lazy to upload to photobucket, and put the link here), but will post them. For now, only my list with first load of seeds I have put in the dirt (some already sprouted).     aji pineapple                        Ajijoe aribibi gusano                      Ajijoe bahamian goat                    Jamison bahamian goat                     Windchicken bhut jolokia                           Vikas bhut jolokia mustard            Ajijoe via Kentishman bhut jolokia peach              ...
Alright, here we go again. Most of my seeds hit the dirt today. I will be using a plot at the community garden as well as the beds at my house. I started a few rocoto seeds earlier this year but they have not been too happy so far. I tried a different seed starting mix for them and I don't think I will be using again. I used my mix that I used last year for the big tray. Mix consists of peat, perlite, mykos and some kelp meal. Had great results with it so I will probably just stick with that mix. If it aint broke, dont fix it!   Here is the grow list. There may be some changes additions but this is it....for now.   Aji Chuncho (CGN 22792) Pepperlover Aji Cito Pepperlover Aji Golden Walt Aji Habanero Pepperlover 1/1 Feb 8 Aji Pineapple...

NM 2015 - From green to red glog!
Figure it would be good to become more of an active member on these forums and start my own glog. For the following reasons   1. Something to look back and reflect on for my accomplishments. 2. Get expert advice (from all you wise ones, and some of the pretenders :) on what I am doing wrong. 3. To make some new friends and possible trade some seeds and plants in the future!   I am going to start by first thanking chocolatescotchbonnet for the seeds and all the help you have given so far, definitely got the ball rolling for me!   So to start out this is my first time ever growing super hots. I found this site a while back but missed the grow time. Check in from time to time but now decided to jump in, make some friends and give it a...

Pest Problem? or Nute Defficiency/Toxicity?
Hey All!!!  Got one I've personally never experienced before... Treated a week or two ago with a small dose of liquid nitrogen, as the plants showed very clear signs of NIT deff.  (Yellowing leaves all over the plant, slowed growth, etc) Haven't had a heck of a lot of trouble with pests on these plants so far this season, minus a small bout with some spider mites that I managed to nip in the bud early, a solitary snail (who is very happily munching the apartments ground cover plants downstairs with his hundreds of buddies as we speak ^.^) , and two or three leaf hoppers I had to scare off.    This 2nd Yr Jal plant was surrounded by a Hab (young, first season), a 7 Pot(2nd yr), Catnip, Rosemary, Thyme, Lemon Sage, Spearmint, Agave, and a...
Virgil's Small Scale Glog
Finally, after getting the greenhouse built, I'm able to start one of these :P I have been dying to get things growing but wanted all my ducks in a row. Anyway, in the ensuing pages you will find details on my plants and what I did to get them to where they are going to be (either awesome or dead, we will see!).   This is my first true attempt at growing anything. My girlfriend had flowers, herbs, squash and a bell pepper plant on the deck. One day months back I was curious to see if I had a green thumb or if I was a plant killer, so I started trying to take care of things. There was much suffering. After research, trial and error, I was able to get things to grow a bit but the bugs (aphids and whiteflies) thwarted me. I'm not dealing...
Kwinly's Magic Carpet +
Hello Again.   This is my first year growing peppers. It all started with a free seed giveaway on you tube (thanks Scott). And me thinking this was the year to stop traveling for work and grow some plants. Well that's not how things happened. In fact I started the first seeds in February if I'm not mistaken. Once they started growing I wanted more. long story short I have 120 5 gal grow bags on the carpet. + another 50 or so in the ground. I hand mixed my medium Starting off with 1/3 sand 1/3 top soil 1/3 coco adding blood meal, bone meal, Epson salt, dolomite lime, osmocote flower and vegetable, and  I used Alaska fish fertilizer to water inn after transplanting. I took pictures all along the way and lost a lot but will include what I...
Trent's 2015 Grow Log (potting soil probs solved!)
Well, off to an early start this year.    I'm planting left over seeds from last year, to start, so I'm putting them in a little early just in case some don't pop.   Sorting last year's stash I kept tucked away from Pepperlover     And the first tray of 2015     I didn't plant any Nagas this year. Probably won't. Not doing reapers again, have plenty of heat in the brown morugas, brain strains, and barrackpores.   The next tray I do will be the rest of the non-annuums in a couple weeks, plus a replant of anything that hasn't popped by then.   Shooting for about 80 plants in the ground this year.   One full row of annuums, 5 jalapeno plants, 10 cayenne plants (never seem to grow enough of that!). 15   4 1/2 rows of Chinense, 10 per row...
FL Born 2015 - 1st Glog
I am finally getting things growing this year! I have several types of seeds on top the fridge to germinate using the wet paper towel method...     #1) One of my friends took me out to where plants with these peppers were growing wild along a fence line in a large pasture. Dry they are between 1/4" and 3/8" in diameter. He calls them "Buckshot Peppers" because they are about the size of buckshot. LOL I am trying to germinate some of these seeds and when I get viable seeds, I will post more photos of these as they grow.         #2) The same friend also gave me a couple of "Grove Pepper" plants that he had pruned back from last year.       #3) My Dad's friend gave me this baggie of peppers from the Grove Pepper plants that my Dad had...
